Game 2: Dallas Mavericks vs. Utah Jazz

vs.
Dallas Mavericks (1-0) vs Utah Jazz (0-0)

Date: Wednesday November 2, 2005
Time: 9:00 pm EST
Place: @ Utah

Projected Starting Lineups

Dallas is coming off a tough double OT against Phoenix. They will be a little tired but that shouldnt stop them from beating the Jazz. They can create a lot of mismatches especially if Kirilenko is guarding Dirk. Utah may end up going zone because if they go man to man they are in trouble. Hopefull the Mavs can bring the same energy they had at the end of the Suns game to Utah.

Key Matchup

vs.

Kirilenko may be able to cause problems for Dirk. He is like Marion but with longer arms. He wont be able to stop Dirk though.

Dallas (1-0) at Utah (0-0), 9:00 pm EST

SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- The Dallas Mavericks opened their season with a bang. The Utah Jazz are hoping their season will not be another dud.

The Jazz welcome the Mavericks to the Delta Center on Wednesday in search of their sixth win in their last eight home openers.

Utah coach Jerry Sloan, who is entering his 18th season with the team, is coming off perhaps his most frustrating campaign as the Jazz coach - a 26-56 season in which the team finished with a losing record for the first time since 1983.

Sloan needs one win to tie Bill Fitch for fifth place on the career list. While he may pick up that victory in the team's opener, he likely will not be raking in too many wins this season.

The Jazz have an extremely young team, with 10 of their 15 players having three years of experience or fewer. The team has suffered with a myriad of injuries the last couple of years, including the sprained knee and broken wrist that cost star forward Andrei Kirilenko 41 games last season.

I've come to this conclusion: AK-47 is one ugly dude...but then, the Mavs have some, too.

Fatigue, or the appearence of it, will be a factor. I look for Diop to get more time, and JET to have more focus to his game from the outset.

I said it earlier: Please get Dirk out of the post! Kirilenko will kill him if he tries those lame moves tonight.

Yea I agree Dirk definately cant goto the most on AK-47. His long are will cause too much trouble. I thnk JHoward will have a great game since Kirilenko wont be guarding him.
