DALLAS - Jerry Stackhouse might have his own documentary within the next year.
The Mavericks' swingman is working with independent film director Kirk Fraser on a project that will chronicle an inside look at the 2005-06 Mavericks.
Stackhouse and Fraser hope to have the documentary on TV screens next summer.
"Everybody is looking for programming, so we think this is something that we can put together and do," Stackhouse said. "It's pretty much following the team throughout the season.
"I got the OK from [coach] Avery [Johnson] to come in and do it and just kind of see how life is as players for a whole season. It'll show the different things we go through -- the ups and downs, the highs and lows -- and put it out there."
Fraser plans to shop the documentary to whoever is interested.
"We haven't even put the first pilot together, so right now it's in the development stages," Fraser said. "Right now, I'm documenting the whole situation with Jerry with his [sore right] knee, with his family, their interaction, and how he lives as an individual and as a human being outside of what people see him as on the basketball court."
Stackhouse believes the documentary will be interesting to basketball fans.
"I think it's something somebody can look at in July and look at it like a series," he said. "We're kind of toying with a few different ideas right now, and we'll just see which one works the best."
Van Horn sits
The Mavs are hoping to have Keith Van Horn available for Tuesday's game against the Houston Rockets.
Van Horn sat out Saturday's game against the Pistons with a sprained middle finger on his right hand, and Avery Johnson said he's "not doing too good."
