Great thread, awesome question. The 2003 Mavs got off to a great start. I think they were 14-0 before the Lakers beat them with a 27 point comeback. They very well could have gone to the Finals, with Nash and Dirk.

However, I think the 2006 Mavs were mentally tougher. And they should have won the Finals if not for a collapse and some questionable calls.

I'd definitely go with us now, seeing as we beat the Spurs last year, but lost to them in 03. On top of us just being a better team. We pretty much had a lucky draw, we weren't a top 4 team.
