In San Antonio, that is.
The Spurs told one of their fan-favorites this summer that he was going to have his No. 6 jersey retired. The ceremony will be Dec. 22, which is not a game in which the Mavericks are playing in San Antonio.
“That’s a really special deal,'' Johnson said after Tuesday morning's practice. "I got that call from Peter (Holt, the owner) and Pop (coach Gregg Popovich) this summer. It’s something to really be excited about. I don’t think I ever would have thought when I started playing in the NBA that I’d ever get my jersey retired.
"We’re not having it when the Mavericks play them. Pop and I both agreed to that. So I’m really excited. That’s going to be a special night for my family and all the people that invested in me.’’
