Re: Dirk again an All-Star, Josh doesn't make the team
Quote:
"It's always an honor to represent a great organization," Nowitzki said. "But I'm more disappointed than anything about Josh not being there. He's had an unbelievable year. He deserves to be there as much as I do. He's been probably our most consistent player. It's disappointing. But in the West, it's so tough to get in there. There will always be players who deserve to go but don't go."
Howard has grown used to being left out. He made last year's team, his first All-Star appearance, only after several players were injured, and commissioner David Stern tabbed Howard as an 11th-hour replacement.
"You know how I feel about it," Howard said. "I'd have to average 40 points a game [to get noticed]."
Howard was happy to see New Orleans' David West, a longtime friend, make the game via the coaches' vote.
"He's like me," Howard said. "We had a long road to get where we are."
The Mavericks' angst over Howard being left off the coaches' ballot is understandable. But with only 12 spots on the team – five starters voted by the fans and seven reserves by the coaches – it's impossible to accommodate all the deserving players in the West.
"I think that's a shame," Avery Johnson said of Howard. "We're happy for Dirk, but right now, we think we're at a stage that we have two guys who should be automatic All-Stars.

At least Josh is glad that his friend made it, makes me feel better about it too.

sick, i didnt know j.hustle was good friends with d.west, that makes alot of sense, two of the most underrated players league wide.
i feel josh should have made the team before dirk, but that would never, ever, happen.
