I'm thinking of moving away from the metroplex (my timeline's 3-4 years out) and living on some land we're going to buy, in rural Arkansas. I'll have to have a satellite and hi-speed access, or I won't go.

Anyone follow the Team in an unconventional way?

Hi-speed satellite access is quite readily available. HughesNet has packages that start at $59.99/month (standard) or $69.99/month for Professional (faster)...

That's what we'll be looking for. Our plan is to save save save, sell our home, and use the proceeds to buy a travel trailer (and a new truck to pull it ). Then build on the land after we get there. As long as we have ac, heat, hot water, satellite TV and hi-speed internet access, it's all good.

But you live in Little Elm! LOL... That's not quite city life already.

Your list is quite short right now. When you actually move out there, you'll start needing 24-hour Wal-Mart, movie theatres, etc... LOL

I'm all about the countryside though. I live smack dab in the middle of downtown, so I look forward to getting out of here every once in a while. Nothing like going to the lake house and having to deal with a incredibly fast 56k dialup connection.

I cannot imagine how FAST it would be to load each page of bbb.net with dial-up.

You can run around the house and do chores while each avatar on the page is loading... LOL

If you guys get up this way (just west of Frisco) it's quite embarassing. 450% population increase since 2000, and we're still driving on the same 2 lane roads. The infrastructure simply can't support the residents, transportation anyway.

Just the thought of being debt free (no mortgage, car payment, etc) and slowing down sounds so nice. Except when basketball season ramps up, we can still get back here to catch a game or three. Just camping out in AAC's parking lot sounds cool.
