Nuggets Playoff seed #7 or #6

I'm curious what all the other Nugget faithful out there thinks about where we will end up at. I'm hoping we can get the #6 seed and surpass the Kings. I realize a lot of things have to happen for that to be even a reality. For one the Rockets have to keep winning. And the Kings have to lose and The Nuggets have to win out. At least thats one scenerio I have been thinking about. Share what you think will most likely be our seeding and what you hope it will be.

Cheers @ Nuggets fans every where!

Re: Nuggets Playoff seed #7 or #6

To get the 6th seed, the Nuggets would have to finish with a better record than the Kings because the Kings hold the tie breaker over the Nuggets ( Details here )

Currently the Rockets and Kings are each 49-31, while the Nuggets are 48-32 and all 3 have 2 games left. In order for the Nuggets to pass the Kings, the Nuggets must win both games and the Kings must lose both games. The difficult part of that scenario is that the Nuggets play Phoenix and Portland and the Kings play Utah and Phoenix. So the Nuggets would have to beat Phoenix and the Kings would have to lose to Utah.

At this point, I'm expecting the 7th seed and telling myself that it would be better to face the Spurs early before all of their players get fully healthy. Plus, upsetting the Spurs in the first round would be a great addition to the story that is the Nuggets 2004-2005 season.

If we face the Spurs in the first round, we're done.

Intersting facts you posted here.

Well one is I didnt realize the Kings had the Jazz as one of their final games. That pretty much equals a Win for them. I knew it would be difficult to get to the 6th seed, but now it seems almost impossible.

And the Suns have had our number all year. Albeit very close games we lost by though.

I suppose the scenerio I suggested in my post up above for the Nuggets to get the 6 seed is nearly impossible. But hopefully with a little luck and a big win against the Suns on Monday the Nuggets will end up with that 6th seed.

Really I don't see it happening though since the Kings have got the Jazz.

So we will be playing the Spurs.

That said how do you feel we rate against the Spurs ?

I like our front line vs. the Spurs. We also need a healthy Camby!

Of course they have the big fundemental in Timmy. Though Duncan is coming off an injury. If there is a time to play the Spurs I agree its right now!

Our perimiter game is probably not as good as the Spurs. But what I like about our guard position is that we are deep and athletic!

One thing I hope Coach Karl does is play DerMarr Johnson more. He was out way too much when we played against the Rockets. I really think he will be a key componet for the Nuggets to win.

Also are all star caliber players have to play hard and agressive every night. I know we will get that effort from K. Mart, Camby, Dre, and Carmelo as they have shown us all post all star game the high level they can play at.

I think you are correct. We probably don't have the height or the skills to face the Spurs.

However, the Nuggets will play a very entertaining series against the Spurs.

Re: Nuggets Playoff seed #7 or #6

Nuggets playing so well lately and if they faced the Spurs... They still got a chance if everyone's healthy. Spurs and Nuggets series are tied 2-2 so It would be very close. I'm seeing the series will take 6-7 games.
