Interesting comments and I agree with her. I would much rather see just a few roster tweaks, then any major changes. And by major, I mean any transactions involving Camby, Miller, Melo, Kenyon & Nene.

The other thing that caught my attention was her comment about Kenyon. I was very frustrated when watching him attempt to rebound this season because he didn't appear to go after the ball most of the time. After hearing about the need for surgery and this comment from Cheryl, I feel pretty confident that just getting a recovered Kenyon Martin will be a huge boost to the team next season.

Now all the Nuggets need is a reliable shooter with a high BBall IQ that can defend and is comfortable being the 5th option on offense.

Agree with the majority of that. And although everyone else seems to think we absolutely have to have Michael Redd or JJ next year to be any good, I believe the same core of guys with a healthy Vo could go a long way next year. It wouldn't hurt to take a gamble on a 2 guard in the draft, but I don't think our future relies solely on a solid 2 guard.

Extremely doubtful. They will be completely different operations. McDyees' first surgery was for a torn patella tendon.

MARTIN SET FOR SURGERY: Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin can't help but feel nervous about having arthroscopic knee surgery this month. He has heard stories about athletes who never regain explosiveness after a knee operation.

"That's my only concern," Martin said. "I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure that doesn't happen, but who's to say. You never know. That's the only thing I'm nervous about."

Martin missed only four games because of his chronically sore left knee but said he regularly felt pain. His surgery will take place within the next few weeks, with rehabilitation expected to begin in June.

"I ain't going to have no pain," said Martin, who credited the Nuggets athletic training staff for keeping his knee strong enough to make it through the season. "That's what I'm looking forward to." Also, Nuggets forward Ed- uardo Najera underwent a magnetic resonance imaging exam on his sore right knee and learned he won't need surgery. He will wear a cast for two more weeks on his broken right hand.

What is your point, because the article you posted isn't news? You appear to be keying in on the statement that he feels nervous. The majority of recent athletes that have had their knee scoped have recovered completely. Still, what pro athlete wouldn't feel nervous about any surgery?

The comparison to Dice doesn't fly because they are having very different surgeries. Dice's surgery took a long time to recover from and even then, he had problems with his knee swelling. Once Dice recovered from that, he broke his left knee cap and then had to have a bone grafting surgery because the first one wasn't healing quick enough.

knee surgery on a guy denver spent big bucks on just isnt good news. the point is they expect a full recovery, but it doesnt always work out that way.

he's not having a blister removed its knee surgery. be open to the possibility of complications or even worst case senerio, loss of some ability.

examples are dice webber etc of guys slowed by injuries in general. i never said they all had or are having the same exact same procedure done

After the season Kenyon had, it is actually good news that knee surgery should allow him to improve.

There is a world of difference in knee surgeries. I've already explained why Dice's surgey was different. Webber had microfracture surgery on a weight-bearing portion of his knee. That is a very severe surgery.

It is far more likely that Kenyon will be better next season than it is that he will have complications.

I am not worried about Kmart's surgery one bit. As Cpawfan has done an excellent job pointing out, Dice and Webber's surgeries are no comparison to what Kmart will have.

I always wonder what-if with Dice. That man could play. Didn't he have a 40 inch vert?

I say with our draft picks we either get a decent 2-guard, or we go for bigs and trade Nene for a 2 guard. I hate to see him go, and I know he probably will blow up elsewhere, but I just don't see him being happy playing second fiddle to Camby for the next couple years.

its very hard to think long term in the nba. i think denver should consider thinking long term. Just my personal opinion, but we need guys that will be in their primes together, a la, pippen, jordan, and grant. Kobe, Shaq, Bird, Parish, McHale, etc
