Re: Melo interview in Slam magazine...
http://slamonline.com/magazine/features/Melo91/
This link to Slam Magazine gives you most of the article, then asks you to get to the store and buy a whole copy
Highlights:
Melo on Coach Karl:
Quote:
“The game they were playing before I got here was Carmelo fighting George Karl. The style was not George Karl,” George Karl says. “And he was not the only ball-stopper on the court—I mean, there were four or five. I just kept saying, Hey, you guys are driving me crazy, man, I can’t look at this.”
Melo smiles at the thought. “To be honest, I just remembered him talking bad about us last year [on ESPN]. I was scared. Well, not scared, but nervous, because people were talking about George, and his past with players. I was like, Damn, I wonder if he’s gonna come in here with that? When he first came, I never said nothing to him, he never said nothing to me. He was coaching and I was playing. But that was just amongst us, just inside the gym. We eventually talked. I was telling him, I’m not here to be disrespectful, I’m not here to make your life miserable. You’re going to be here however many years you signed for, I don’t think I’m never going nowhere, so let’s get on the same page.”

Melo on leading the team from here on out:
Quote:
|
“Yes, this is my team,” Camelo says. “Everybody tells me that, tells me that it’s time to take over. My teammates tell me that. George tells me that. I still got that approach.”

It'd be interesting to pick up a whole copy to see where the story leads. Good insight on Karl, but everything else has been kicked around a bit too much on the online article. I think there is about twice as much info in the actual magazine.
