Yeah, that is also probably why Kroenke is waiting to renew Kiki's contract. I get the feeling that if the Nugs don't win a playoff series or two this season then Kiki is byebye.
Jaric can wait because we can't ink f.a. anyway so the Clips have lots of time to see if they want to match. I'd like to see what offers Jaric gets, if the Nugs don't get him at a rock bottom price (which he wont sign for) then we'll let him walk.
Offering Buck a deal is stupid. DerMarr needs to be resigned. If he's not (and it's looking bleak) that's a big mistake.

Don't get me wrong, Kiki has done a great job so far, but he's made some real bonehead moves. Personally, I think he's rebuilt too fast. You look at his lack of committment to Skita, his lack of committment to Nene (who should've been groomed for power forward, not center), and his signing of Kenyon Martin along with the three draft picks he traded, and his long-term plan for this team really comes into question. Skita may have been a bust either way, but it became apparent that once we got that first hint of success, the plans for developing Skita went out the door in lieu of instant gratification. That's fine, but we wasted a number five pick on him when there were other players available. Nene has been decent, but he could be a whole lot better. He never should've been moved to center to fill that need we had there his rookie year. They made him put on way too much way. On top of that, the staff hasn't worked on his low post game enough and hasn't gotten on him enough about rebounding. He should be a beast right now but instead he's just good. The worst thing, though, is the Martin deal. Martin is nice, but did we really need him? Especially at a price of a max contract and three first round draft picks? That's ridiculous, and he didn't live up to his billing last year. We'll see how this year shakes out, but this team is running out of long-term flexibility.
And I agree about DerMarr. I think he could end up being real nice but it seems like the Nuggets really aren't feeling him.

Re: Jaric in for a visit
I agree with just about everything Roddney said above this post.
Kiki has gambled a lot of our future away. I mean the signing of KMart was a good move, but the Nets were going to balk at our deal anyway. So Kiki traded 3 picks for the Restricted insurance. Basically he was too impatient to wait the 14 days to see if the Nets would match. Thorn bluffed and Kiki bit and gave up 3 first rounders. Also, Kiki didn't include the Wizards pick that we just drafted Klieza with. That was pretty stupid as well. We should have delt that pick and kept the Orlando pick we got by trading Jameer Nelson. The Nuggets really should have just waited out the 14 days and kept the 3 picks.
Kiki could have then utilized those picks this offseason to bring in a guard that can shoot. I wasn't thrilled with the signing of Andre Miller either. The guy is too offensively hungry and so is Boykins. The Nuggets need a guard who is willing to sacrifice his personal glory to better the team. Gilbert Arenas was not that player and we were right to let him walk. Dre showed big improvement under Karl and looks like he can be coached into the man (although he can't shoot 3's at all, but he loves to chuck em' up when we need one...and misses...)
I like Kiki, but the love affair of him getting the organization cap room is wearing off. He has made countless blunders when we needed him to make brilliant ones. Our cap space is just about gone and we still have yet to advance past the first round.
Jaric and Buckner may just seal Kiki's fate...

Great post. It's good to finally connect with someone else about Kiki. Makes me feel like maybe I'm not crazy after all.
He's done a great job, but the long-term stability is looking kinda grim. That said, he has a knack for dealing so hopefully he'll work something out.

Just a minor correction. The pick Denver got from Orlando was the Wizards pick.
The Nuggets had 3 extra draft picks, The Clippers, The Wizards & the Sixers, and traded 2 of them plus one of the Nuggets. Why he traded the Clippers pick I'll never understand.
When Kiki made the S&T deal, I assumed that meant that he had another deal or two lined up and he needed Kenyon's contract finalized first. He completely wasted the opportunity cost that those 3 picks provided.
On the other hand, it looks like Jaric could be traded to the Cavs

Re: Jaric in for a visit
he also used his first round draft pick to select a SG with questionable outside shooting. And then he traded For Eddie Najera Jr.

Re: Jaric in for a visit
I think Jaric would be a great SG for this team. He's tall, can shoot the 3, can defend, can pass...a nice complement to Miller and Melo.
