Seems they are willing to take the MLE but are waiting for a decision from Kiki. Kiki may be waiting for Finley to be released, but that could still be a few weeks away. Should Kiki land Jaric now or gamble on Finley.

They should sign Jaric, he is about to peak in his career while Finley is on the decline. Jaric plays with intensity and is defensively underrated. I think he would fit in very nicely with the team.

Timmons

Kiki has to decide if Jaric, a guy who is injury prone, is worth the MLE. Jaric has not had the shooting touch that Denver desperatley needs, but he is a better defender than Finley and younger.
If Denver wants Jaric then we basically add another Andre Miller. Jaric can knock down 3's with some improvement while Miller doesn't seem to have a prayer to gain any outside shooting, although he has been working on it since Karl came to town.

Also Jaric is a point guard. If Denver wants him then they need to move either Earl or Andre. Putting Jaric at the 1 and Miller at the 2 isn't the answer. Maybe Jaric can play predominantly at the 2 and be the guy, but he hasn't been the man yet.

ESPN insider again has a rumor up that the Knicks have been considering offering Tim Thomas and Penny Hardaway for Michael Finley. The salaries match up and both Knick players have expiring contracts after this season. I don't think that any trades for Fin will go through, but you never know. Plus with Johnson probably being moved to Atlanta, the Suns will push hard for Finley and I seriously think he'd wind up there instead of Denver.

So if Denver does not want to lose out completely this offseason they'd better offer Jaric a deal and hope it's not a bust. If not then they should wait for Finley, who'd be a perfect fit and basically go Fin or Bust.

Jaric is not the guy.
