It's a great possibility given the teams performance after the All-Star break last season and with no major shakeups, but perhaps the addition of a wily vet like Michael Finley (figured I'd spell his whole name in case people forgot he's on our wishlist! ) that the Nuggets could grab the 2 seed next year.

Remember that Houston, Dallas, and the Spurs will battle for only one top 3 seed. Denver only has to beat out Seattle, Utah, and Minny for a top 3 spot. Hell, they came within a game of Seattle last season for the 3 seed.

With Phoenix possibly having a bit of a dropoff from last year what are your thoughts on the 2 seed? Realistic?

right now im not satisfied by how the draft or the off season was handled, and i'm glad kiki's contract hasnt been extended. If we dont win around 50 games and get out of the first round, we need to thank him and move on to someone that can get us to the next level. If is see buckner and hodge switching off at the shooting guard position this fall, I think we will have our answer. If Kiki does something like finley or spree, or gets someone in here, we are going to be successful.

It's way too early to be disappointed in Denver's draft. Julius Hodge is a player that has that 'winner' label. The guy is a guts over glory guy that has a hard nose for competition. It was nice to see Kiki and co. go after somebody that has Hodge's passion for the game.

I think Francisco Garcia is overrated. He choked in every big game he played in for the most part at Louisville. Hodge turned a mediocre NC State team into a NCAA Tourney Monster that ruined some seasons off Hodge's efforts alone. Don't sleep on Hodge yet. We'll see who has a better pro career, but I think Garcia's heart and fear for competition will be exposed in the NBA. Hodge's shot will come around as well. He wasn't as bad as critics think shooting wise.

As for the offseason, Denver just got priced out of a lot of guy's ranges. I think Kiki is also GMin' for a job and bringing Lenard back is a big gamble if he's unable to step his game up after that injury. Kiki will also be a genious/jacka$$ depending on Nene's progress this season. If Nene flies then so does Kiki. I mean the Nugs passed on Amare for Nene. It's looking like Denver will have to wait until August 15 to find out Finley's fate.

Standing pat is not the worst thing that could have happened, but it better be worth it. I am pretty upset about Kiki and Karl standing behind Buckner (who is outta potential) with DerMarr just waiting to break loose w/ this club. It looks like DerMarr is out of luck w/ Denver and that sucks.

I just don't see how Denver can't be favored in the NorthWest with our team coming back under Karl's system. The Nugs were 1 game behind Seattle, who has lost what they've lost and nobody else in the division is making big moves either.

you make a poll about how denver was going to do. i expressed i was dissastified so far as to how kiki has done to put denver in a position to win next season, as in there are no big improvements as of yet. Meaning hodge is not a guy that has shown he is going to step up and knock down nba three's. And we havent locked up a shooting guard in free agency yet.

Of course that could change. Which means maybe your poll is too early and my opinion as unfortunate as it may be that Kiki still has to get something done.

Yeah, the poll is probably too early and Denver is still going to make a move, but it's either not too major or just a nice mystery.

I'm glad you are not satisfied with Kiki's moves. It's good to have mixed opinions and different views always. I just got to really thinking of our position after reading the Best 6 East or West thread in the 'General' forum.

as of now it looks like we are the favs for the NW division although i cant see higher than 3rd (pho and sa are too tough).

we won 49 last year - we should be able to get 50 despite no FA signings.

Sonics fan here---I think your team will be the team to beat next season in the NW division, if the Nuggets play like they did after the all-star break. I think it'll be between Denver & Seattle, possibly Minnesota, but i doubt that. should be interesting.....
