Re: DJ, waiting may cost Nuggets
I just can't see why not a lot of people are on the DJ bus.
I think there was some stat like in the 71 games he suited up for Denver last season he started 40-45 of them and the Nugs won almost every game he started. I'll have to look that up, not sure how accurate I am.
I just think that at 25 years old with a nice shooting percentage (49% fg) and decent from the outside (35%) he should be a higher priority than Greg Buckner. His length 6'9'' provides uncanny defensive ability. I know he needs to get a bit quicker with his feet, but that's just a conditioning thing. You can't really expect Buck to all the sudden take over offensively or grow 5''.
Karl did keep DJ on the bench for extensive minutes after DJ started. He averaged 17 mpg last season, which is nothing. Maybe the staff knows something about him physically that we don't, but I haven't heard anything. Also when you have teams like S.A. and Houston looking at one of your guys that should give you a clue that he can play. It would be somewhat different if say the Hawks or Hornets (who took Birdman) came calling.
