Don't see how that helps the Nuggets. With Hodge on the roster, why would the Nuggets need Pietrus? And Fisher's contract is horrible.

Pietrus had a very nice April off the bench with 12 PPG with 44% shooting from 3 land in 21 MPG, but I don't see him as an answer as the starting SG to give up Nene.

Kiki wouldn't trade Nene for Kenyon or Redd, why would he trade him for lesser players?

Get a starting SG and a project C, and GS get a starting C and a backup young SG

A trade like this makes the Nuggets put all their eggs in one basket. Denver's goal is not to win a championship next season, but to produce a franchise that will be good for the longhaul.

Adding Fisher would be good for a team that needs to win now, but Denver cannot afford to take on his contract and then go back to rebuilding when the Cap hits the fan.

Pietrus has shown some flashes, but I'm starting to think Denver doesn't need much help other than defensive at the 2 with some shooting ability like Hodge will hopefully provide along w/ Buck and Vo.

Nene is far too important to this team to trade him away.

well he can only go with what was reported. the general information from last year was kiki decided to actually hold onto Nene instead of pull the trigger on the trade.

was reported on various sports news outlets. including on espn. was during last season. the bucks werent sure they would wanted to pony up, so if they traded for Nene they wouldnt have to. I believe the reason Kiki didnt do it was because he is going to have to Max out Anthony. And he probably didnt have the funds to max both players out. And keep guys like Kmart and Camby around.

Yep there were rumors and an offer from the Bucks for Redd. I do remember hearing about them as well.

Kiki turned it down. I can't find any reliable sources to document the nixed deal, but I do remember atleast hearing that Kiki turned it down before the season started (last season).

Not trying to bait or anything, but I think you guys are seriously overrating Nene. What has he done that makes you think he'll be a star? Most likely, he'll ask for Chandler or Dalembert money when he becomes a free agent and you guys will have to pay it for a guy who isn't even starting on your team.

Halfbreed, you are pretty correct right now about Nene.

He has been pretty disappointing so far. But trading him for Pietrus who is young and developing and a lot like Hodge imo is not a good deal. Plus, Fisher is owed an excess of around $30 million until 09-10 season. That would kill the Nuggets flexability and franchise development.

Pawning a bad salary on Denver (aside from Najera) is difficult to do. Denver did get a 1st rounder out of that deal in place of Skita and Najera's game was needed in Denver.

Nene is coming off a terrible season in which he was injured and out of shape for just about all of it. (Knee
