How many games do you think Marcus Camby will play?
Surprisingly, Camby has been the nuggets' healthiest and most productive big (by far). Nene went down, k-mart is playing injured. How long do you think Camby has before he gets injured? or will he a full season (highly unlikely)
The most games he's played in one season is 72. He's had 4 seasons of 60+, and the rest are under 60 (including two seasons where he only played 29 games each)
If Camby can stay healthy this season and play at least 70 games, there is no doubt in my mind that he will win the Defensive Player of the Year award. Currently he is 2nd in rebounding and 3rd in blocks.

Good question. From a history stand point Camby has been Mr. Injury prone. However since he has been with the Nuggets he has been healthy in the sense he has been able to stay on the court and contribute. Cambys 2nd season with the Nuggets he played 72 games. Last year he played 66 games. So I'm sure 70 games is a safe bet. However He may be able to play more. I would guess and staying optimistic he will play around 75 games this season. At 31 I think he can sustain a long season barring any major injuries of course.

Re: How many games do you think Marcus Camby will play?
with nene on the shelf, and kmart almost there, the nuggets are really fortunate that camby hasn't yet gone down. what's more, he's been dominant. hard to believe. i mean, i don't think marcus has really had many strings of 'dominance' in the pros at all, let alone periods of healthy dominance, so the nuggets are... well, behind the 8-ball here. are they waiting for an inevitable outcome? or is this marcus' coming-out party of sorts (at 31 yo)?
i don't know how anyone in their right mind can expect camby to be healthy for the entire season. it might happen, don't get me wrong, but how can one have that expectation? expectations are based on historical evidence, for the most part, and (blind) faith for the remaining fraction, and the historical evidence has not been favorable for this player to say the least. so if anyone's expecting marcus to finally play an injury-free campaign in his 10th year, it's gotta be rooted only in hope and blind faith (and convenience).
again, it could happen, but if i were to make a prediction, i wouldn't expect it to. with nene out for the count and martin playing hurt, i wouldn't feel comfortable as a nugs fan right now. "what could have been" is more likely to be the theme for this season. but i have to give camby credit for what he's done to this point: it's been great. there's still hope, i won't trample on that- and with nene's fire to return for the playoffs, you can't help but commend this team overall.
peace
