I'm trying to think of a reason why Elson should be getting minutes instead of Kleiza when Camby returns and I can't think of any, except that he's a couple of inches taller. anyone else?

Elson is tall and hits the occasional open 15 footer. Sometimes, he even boxes out. He also has the lowest basketball IQ I've ever seen (note how I never said "at the NBA level"). When he does accidentally do something right (say, a steal) he'll turn around and negate it by doing something stupid (say, a turnover). He does the best he can, he's just a dumb basketball player.

Elson sure tries a lot, and he's young compared to how much he's played, but Kleiza and Najera are much better.

That being said, Elson should remain as the main backup to Camby so he can get minutes to mature. However, I dont' know if he has a place in the long run with the Nuggets. He is a cheap player, and a physical specimen, but we could get somebody from the D-League who may play with more intensity than Elson does.

I'd like to see us get somebody like when we had the late Brian Williams (Bison Dele). He was the quintessential backup C/PF. You never missed a step with B-Dub in the game. He was huge, great passer, good shooter, awesome rebounder and shot blocker. he did his job, and didn't complain.

RIP B-Dub. RIP...
