hes not any more of a ball-hog than andre.

demands opponents attention, can SCORE like no other, decent 3point %, throws a great lob, maybe only lance armstrong has better conditioning, better defender than dre, a leader (yes, the younger guys LOVE him), coach karl would LOVE him.

seriously, he is still FAR better of a choice than andre, and i love andre!

for somebody on mcinnis' (side), its surprising you couldnt give AI a chance

anyway, his salary is terrible which is the ONLY negative IMO

I KNOW Iverson is a warrior and kills himself on the court, but is bringing in a guy whose most famous line is, "PRACTICE? WHAT WE TALKING ABOUT HERE MAN? PRACTICE?" A good move?

I mean Kenyon usually practices, but his 88-year old man knee prevented him from doing so and Karl ridiculed him and benched him for not practicing. How's that gonna hold up in D-Town?

iverson played in 72 games at 43 minutes per game. he shot 1822 times.

Andre played 82 games at almost 36 minutes per game. he shot 872 times.

I support McInnis to earn the right to make the roster. Big difference from taking on AI, an aging... star... not superstar... that doesn't play well with other stars (exception being Mutombo but he didnt want the ball).

We have enough midget guards. We need one that can defend and knock down shots. If you offered me Mo Peterson or Iverson, id take Mo no questions asked

AI plays hard every practice! he was one of the few vets playing in the summer league w/ all the rooks last year. hes FAR more mature now. u know that...

i actually consider Mutombo a superstar, but thats another story. The problem is... you put any name around Iverson (other than the defensive minded Mt Mutombo) and it doesn't work.

You cant win with one person talking that many shots. Kobe, Iverson, whoever. With that said, iverson is now going to either say where he is or decline. I pick decline. he steals the ball, but he wont guard the wings, you cant put him on Manu. We wouldnt have anyone to guard the wings.

Iverson doesnt make teammates better, and the Denver Nuggets will only be as good as the team we put around Melo. Building around Melo work well with Iverson. Iverson wont defer to him. I'm not saying Andre Miller has to be around either

You really can't say Iverson doesn't make his teammates better.

I believe Aaron McKie and Eric Snow had nice careers b/c of AI.

Look at the 76'ers teams AI played on. They were horrific except for him. He's never had anyone to go to war with.

Dalembert = no skills.
AI2 = Workout freak, developing.
Korver = Stand still shooter
Webber = Stand still ballhog. Afraid of Crunch Time.
Mutombo = Not an offensive threat.
Snow = No O.
McKie = Stand still shooter.
Tyrone Hill = stiff.

But when AI plays at the all star game he's an assist machine. And in Denver he'd work great with Melo I think. I wouldn't want the Nugs to gamble and be wrong with AI and I also don't think Denver is just ONE player away from a title either.

Bringing in an Old AI is not the answer. You can't tell me that...

Is going to bring home a championship. All Denver would be doing is watching AI's career die.

Nene and Melo are not ready to win next year. They are still developing and need a lot more help. Young help.

Plus Denver is really doing a crap job in the offseason thus far.

AI can be as mature as my grandpa, but I'm not at every Nuggets practice or 76'ers practice.

I'm sure that AI being who he is (flying around the court for over 40 minutes a game) is not capable of practicing all the time. Perhaps not due to attitude, but physical breakdown.

And Martin supposidly had physical limitations and not mental ones. Just worried Karl could ruin a good thing here in Denver. Not worried about players.


Still AI alone wont bring home David Stern's trophy. Denver needs a LOT more help.

well IMO an older, more mature AI is better.

i know its not much, but in the all-star games and olympics, AI was not a ball hog at all. actually had a crap load of assists. with camby and melo and a SHOOTER, AI could DEFINETELY help us to a championship!

this is melo's break out year. hes gonna be an all-star, 3rd or 4th in scoring. all his numbers will go up easily. the lack of touches he ALREADY gets wouldnt be ANY worse with AI, maybe even better...

NO WAY IN HELL is melo getting doubled and trippled with AI and a shooter out on the floor...NO WAY!

and honestly, i dont care if he isnt the greatest defender on the wing. neither is andre. could u imagine our fast break with AI??? all those steals he already gets...

i just dont see a negative at all with AI except that contract...which makes getting him pretty much out of the question anyway...
