After a day of boating, I felt like watching some basketball "from the good old days". Back to the 99-00 season. Oklahoma played Iowa State in the Big 12 championship. On the State bench sat a drunk as well as an assistant into underage inapporiate pictures.... of course nobody knew this yet. But then I recognized a face I was glad to see. Paul Shirley sitting out with a foot injury. On the floor newcomer of the year Jamal Tinsley was toying with Hollis Price... and actually fouled an opposing guard out by dribbling through that guards legs. Absolutely hilarous. Marcus Fizer was an absolute beast, making you wonder what could have been if not for Elton Brand, and his injuries. Also, on the floor was a chiseled 6'5 PF who later moved to Iceland (and coverted to a SG) to become the MVP of the league and score 34 points and 13 rebounds per game.

And of course for the Sooners, Eddie Najera (played center and I think he was listed at 6'9 or 6'10) was a workhorse. Very fiesty, and never gave up. Makes you realize just how valuable he is to the Nuggets. I think he scored 16 or 18 points and put up an admirable fight against what in hindsight was probably the best basketball team in the country. Of course Iowa St did lose in the elite 8 to some team with Morris Peterson on it (Your the man Morris, but everyone in the country knows the refs blew the game).

Thought since our front office hasnt done anything.... I might go down memory lane and bring up some players.

I've read rumors that both Dallas and Indiana are interested in Kenyon Martin. Denver asking in return for Jerry Stackhouse from Dallas, and Dallas is trigger shy because of it. As it may turn out... both Jamal Tinsley and Stephen Jackson could end up in a Nuggets uniform. Seems they may have lost faith in both players in Indiana.
