Melo injures knee

"Carmelo Anthony has a hyperextended right knee, suffered during Team USA's exhibition game against Brazil. He won't return to the game. The level of injury is not known at this point." InsideHoops.com

From ESPN.com
Quote:
"Too early to say. Two or three days?" team director Jerry Colangelo told ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan via e-mail when asked when Anthony might be able to play again.

Re: Melo injures knee

He was in pain. Did fall hard in stands.

ESPN reported no structural damage and just a hyperextension. Should still play in World Champ. games.

Scary moment...

Melo is hands down the best player on Team USA right now, they fell apart without him. I sure hope he is ok.

Re: Melo injures knee

what scares me is the thought of Melo injured during the season.
We'd be lost without him.

You're right though, he's carrying the USA...this should be HIS year!

Hands down best scorer! That's not the same thing that best player.... I love Melo but I wouldn't say he has been the best player of the team.. The US offense went down with Anthony, thought

god im getting sick of the "melo is a good scorer and sucks at everything else" CRAP! team USA absolutely FELL APART against brazil and it took some HOMER REFEREEING from dick bavetta for team USA to even win...

No, Thomas and his guys weren't the only ones in the wrong Saturday. The Nuggets have their own issues. But when it was over, at least they weren't crying, at least they weren't punking.

It's all gone in New York now – the pride, the respect, the dignity. This isn't just a bad team; this is a bad act. A once proud franchise and fan base brought to its knees as its pathetic coach makes excuses and whines for mercy.

Yo gangsta cool off He is right and well to extent you are semi right he isn't best PLAYER but he played the best simple as that... it's like last years rookie of the year sucks *** as member of team USA but he is still good player... Kirk played better than Arenas and Wade but it's not like he is skill wise better player.

So behave, read and think... Melo was in few last games the main guy but... Wade is injured Kobe is injured and Melo just steped up won coaches trust got good minutes and lead the team few times but I wouldn't say that Kirk and some others hasn't done outstanding job while others have just been dissapointments.

Re: Melo injures knee

People need to realize that Melo is the complete deal and that the only reason he isn't spoken of in the same breath as Lebron and Wade is becuase of two things:

1) Marketing: Lebron is Lebron, let's face it...nobody is in his league. But Nike pushes him like crazy everywhere.
2) Wade won a championship and has a great supporting cast. If Melo were drafted by the Pistons, he'd be spoken of in the same breath as Lebron cause Detroit would have won two more championships with him at the helm. Yep...the helm of the offense.

He's too gifted to be getting the shaft like he has been.
