Re: Players plaing times for the nuggets
Karl loves Boykins so I'm sure he'll still get a lot of minutes. As for the rest of the team, it still a bit early to tell.
Up front Nene, Joe Smith and Kenyon all had knee issues last season. In the backcourt, it appears for now, SG is JR's position to lose.

Re: Players plaing times for the nuggets
With Nene at 80%, you can expect him to get no more than 10-15 minutes a game for the first month or so of the season. Joe Smith and Reggie Evans will get a ton of backup minutes in the post.
Expect Jamaal Sampson to hardly play, probably.
Boykins will get a ton of PT...he always does.

No, Thomas and his guys weren't the only ones in the wrong Saturday. The Nuggets have their own issues. But when it was over, at least they weren't crying, at least they weren't punking.
It's all gone in New York now – the pride, the respect, the dignity. This isn't just a bad team; this is a bad act. A once proud franchise and fan base brought to its knees as its pathetic coach makes excuses and whines for mercy.

Re: Players plaing times for the nuggets
I like Boykins at the point better than I do at SG. It also will allow Andre to not force things as much.
Dre is a top 10 PG in the league. He's way underrated. If we can keep Boykins away from SG, we'll be fine. Hopefully JR Smith will wow us at SG, and we'll be able to go deeper in the playoffs.

Nene and Hodge news from the Post
Quote:
Guard Julius Hodge (foot infection) is still in Denver, but Gillen said he might be able to participate in the "next couple of days." ...
While Nene didn't complete the final part of the morning practice, Gillen said Nene and newcomer Joe Smith are being monitored in their recovery from knee injuries and are doing fine.

Re: Players plaing times for the nuggets
Nene, Hodge and Kenyon news from the RMN
Quote:
Nene, returning from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered last November, looked good in his first practice in 11 months. "He had a big smile on his face afterward, which, as you well know, is the key," said Nuggets athletic trainer Jim Gillen. Nene went through all but the last 15 minutes of the morning session . . .
Martin said his knee problems are behind him, saying he had "fun" Tuesday. "If I'm healthy, I'm happy," he said . . .
The Nuggets signed Brazilian forward Jefferson Sobral to a nonguaranteed, minimum deal . . .
Karl is hoping guard Julius Hodge, who is not with the team due to a left foot infection related to being shot last April, will do some court work next week. "I'm not sure it will be five-on-five," said Karl, who expects Hodge to remain all week in Denver . . .
