Successful Scenario

Due to Denver and Indiana being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Denver and Indiana had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Jackson likely is very attainable by the nuggets, and its likely many teams will steer clear of him. If Artest can turn it around in Sacramento. Jackson can do the same in denver. Seems like he just needs new teammates, a coach that sets down guidelines and expectations, and a new city.

I have talked to a number of sources that have told me Jackson is there for the taking and has been since this summer. That said, if I was the Nuggets I wouldn't want any part of him. He's a headcase, and J.R. can do everything he does and then some.

you have written some good articles, but are you kidding me? Historically, at least, Jackson is a way better defender than JR Smith. You bring in Jackson and you turn the Denver Nugget's biggest weakness into a major strength in one year. You have Jackson be the 6th man instead of the 35% from the field Earl Boykins.

That frees you up to trade Earl Boykins along with maybe Joe Smith later on (before Earl opts out this summer).

Stephen Jackson did just fine in other locations outside of Indiana. If all you have to give up is Najera and Hodge. You do it.

JR Smith is playing great, **** I took his fan club. I love the guy, but defensively he still has to grow. Offensively he is oustanding. And Melo could use more than one wing to play with. JR is great, but Diawara and Johnson could sure be upgraded with Jackson.

The only better option out there is Morris Peterson, whenever he becomes on the table, but I'm afraid his asking price maybe to steep. Giving up draft picks in the 07 draft is just not an option.

Getting Crazy Train (a nickname he earned with his time on the Nets) would give JR someone to compare notes with about being in Scott's doghouse.

There is no getting around the fact that Jackson isn't all there mentally and he is a ticking bomb. I'm not convinced he'll be willing to take a backup role

Same questions as always. He'd be an asset as far as basketball goes, and I think Melo has matured enough this year to know who to pay attention to. And it seems like he and JR are close enough where Melo could steer him away from potential trouble, too. Personally, Jackson's a risk I'd be willing to take.

I think as long as he got "his minutes" starting wouldnt be an issue. This summer JR Smith was damaged goods. I remember when the Wizards made Stackhouse available in the expansion draft. I started a thread that suggested Denver work out a deal with the Cats to pick up Stackhouse. Every single poster in that thread said I was stupid. Stackhouse was overpaid, and a cancer.

Stephen Jackson could use a change of scenery. Minus the "tude" this guy compliments Melo perfectly.

I was about to start making fun of you for capitalizing every other letter in your user name, but then I looked at the trade proposal again, and your kind of right. I'm all for getting Jackson, but I think it'd take a little more than Eddy Nah and a soph who's never made more than 2 baskets in the same game to get him. He's a headcase, but there's always a home for somebody who can play basketball.
