nene's next season

What are you all expecting (or hoping for) from Nene in '07-'08? He looks primed to be a full-time starter again, unless Martin comes back as a convincingly healthy beast. Even so, I think Nene has shown he belongs in the starting lineup, with his post game and physical defense.

On a team with less firepower like Charlotte, or with a hole in the middle like Atlanta, he's been looking like he could be on track for a season of 18 and 9. But if Anthony and Iverson can figure out how to be productive and play to their strengths at the same time, I'd be happy with 15 ppg and 8 rpg, with an assist or steal here and there.

Re: nene's next season

Nene proved to be the best low post presence that the nuggets have had since McDysse. If and I mean if, Nene can stay healthy he should be a full time starter. No matter how hard M-mart pushes and rehabs,I have a hard time believing he can come back from 2 microfracture surgeries. Nene is a low post presence who deserves to start and will anchor the Nuggets down low, hopefully for years to come

Re: nene's next season

Nene is as good as the number of shots he gets. He spent the last half of the season showing that he was more than ready to start proving he can earn that big contract. I can't remember the exact number now, but I did some some research a month or two ago and there was a stretch of what I believe was 18 or so games where he did not shoot under 50% from the field even once. If he had better court vision he'd be, in my opinion, a borderline elite big man, but that's not something guys usually develop. I'll say 15 and 7 or so for next year, though I think he could be close to a 20 and 10 guy on a team that had more shots to go around.

Agreed. He could be one of the top 7-10 PF's in the league, I'll wait and see if the Nuggets use him better.

He's probably my second favorite player on the team though, the guy's a monster.

Nene is a beast he is big and strong and he is excellent down on the block.I think you leave Nene in the starting lineup.
