Trade Deadline Updates
Here are some qoutes from today from the Nuggets insider on a couple other boards Estratt:
Quote:
Bearup walked into the War Room today, put the scenarios on the board, and circled the Artest scenario.
He repeated a mantra he was saying non-stop last year before we traded for Iverson: "two average players don't equal a good player, two good players don't equal a great player".
"Artest is a great player. We don't have to give up a great player to get him. Let's get it done."
|
Quote:
Apparently, Memphis is pulling Miller off the table. We've tried and tried to get him.
Next on our list is Artest. I think we're gonna go get him.
|
Quote:
Nobody wants to lose LK here. That said, at the end of the day, he's a backup 3 and Artest is a great player.
I don't know what, if any, communication we've had with his agent regarding him opting out. I would guess we would have.
This is a "win today" play, without question.
|
Quote:
Yes it is. I am personally gonna hate LK and Eddie leaving if we do this deal. Two GREAT guys.
That said, Artest is unequivocally a force in the game. Maybe its the force in the game we need. Our guys hope LK does well in the playoffs, but they aren't confident. Eddies' minutes always get shortened up in the playoffs.
Artest is a force in the playoffs.
And, apparently AI and Melo met with Bearup and Wark in New Orleans and practically begged them to get Artest.
|
Quote:
Well, the guys just met with Karl. I look forward to finding out how that went.
I bet big $ that GK wants Artest, but doesn't want to give up both Lk and Eddie.
The trade at this level does not require Karls' approval. Only Kroenkes'.

The Spurs may be nearing a deal for Artest, although it's also believed Denver may finally be willing to give up Linas Kleiza. Of course, my flight from Portland to Sacramento is at this very moment, so we'll see where things stand when I land.

From everything I have heard and read I am convinced that the Spurs will not be getting Artest, I purely think the offered is mentioned to try to get Denver to give in and give up LK. I believe Artest will either come to Denver or stay in Sac.

Re: Trade Deadline Updates
Apparently the Sixers insider on realgm (the same one who confirmed the exact Iverson trade be4 it happened) Said the Artest trade to Denver is done and will be announced later.
Not sure why he would have the inside track to a Nugz/Kings deal but he did have the Iverson trade down pat last year so maybe he knows something. I for one sure hope he does.
Still waiting for another Estratt post but hasnt been on since early in the afternoon

Re: Trade Deadline Updates
What about Cassell and Aaron Williams for Najera and JR Smith? (in case the other trades fails)
