I will admit I am very interested in seeing the Nuggets move up in the draft. Now I don't think we can get Eric Gordon or Beasley or Rose. But I have two thoughts. One OJ Mayo is going to come out even though he says he isnt sure. Two, he will fall out of the top five.
Especially if the Bulls are drafting 8 and he falls (and they are loaded with guards) would you then make a trade with the bulls. Look I've seen the guy play plenty. I've read the good and the bad. If he is on the board at 7-9.... I want to trade up and get him.
Then if we are picking 17 I'd consider moving that pick.
If I had it my way we'd pick up 4 rookies next year.
Late top 10 pick for OJ Mayo, 2 Late first rounders for Alexis Ajinca (remember a year ago I was talking about him) and Johnny Flynn (Syracuse, I have a feeling if he is a guaranteed first round pick he will jump). And an early 2nd round pick to take Nathan Jawai and then the Nuggets pick to take Richard Roby.
I'd start the season with Ajinca and Jawai in the D League and Roby and Flynn on the NBA.
I've seen some tape on both Ajinca and Jawai and I like them both. Ajinca has put on some weight but people still worry about the bender factor. He appears like he could be a shot blocking machine down the road. Jawai at 6-10 280 could eventually play a Nene type role.
I like Kevin Love too if you keep your Nuggets pick but his knees worry me. Collison would be a pretty good point guard for the Nuggets too. I'd like to see Flynn in a Nuggets uni down the road however...I really like how that would fit
