If this is slow, we don't wanna be fast.
Some Coloradans shrugged and stewed when Denver Nuggets top draft pick Carmelo Anthony questioned the tempo and tact of their state's metropolitan center.
Others gave the East Coast-born and bred superstar the benefit of the doubt.
After all, he'd never really been here.
So now that Anthony has set up shop in Denver, the question hangs like an arcing jump shot: Are we really living in a slow city?
To find out what the pace of life is like for Anthony in his new western digs, Rocky Mountain News photographer Evan Semon tagged along with the NBA rookie one day last week. They went to practice. Hung out at Anthony's new pad. Had lunch. Shot hoops. Visited Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Semon reports that Anthony "seems like a normal guy."
Or as normal as a 19-year-old multimillionaire can be.
