Zydrunas Ilgauskas of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets on Monday were named NBA Players of the Week for improving the playoff fortunes of their respective teams.
Anthony was named the Western Conference Player of the Week after averaging 26.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.8 assists for the Nuggets, who went 3-1 last week. Denver owns the eighth and final playoff berth in the West.
The rookie forward had 31 points and a career-high nine assists in a 117-111 win over Milwaukee on Friday.
