Bzdelik should get canned
i am a HUGE nuggs fan, and have been since i was 5 years old. i stuck with em through the struggles and even gave a lot of credit to bzdelik for getting the nuggs where they are but recently i think that his performance as a coach has been horrible, bad enough to fire him. here are some reasons why bzdelik should get canned.
1. carmelo should have been on the floor for the final shot. now i know that he had a rough game four but his presence on the court would automaticly draw recognition from the defense. do you honestly think that coach flip would want to man to man carmelo? now what if you have offensive threats such as VO, boykins, andre, and camby on the court. then what do you do? each player can do a different thing very well and that would kill a coach finding the right matchups.
melo is an offensive threat because he can go to the hole as he pleases and hit the "J"
Vo is a long range threat who went 6 for 7 from long range that game
Andre is strong enough to back almost any guard down into the lane and has a solid mid range j
earl is quick enough to blow by any player in the league and get to the hole to look for a pass or a foul, and is one of the best free throw shooters in the league
and camby has proven he is solid down low.
2. with all those threats on the court why would u go to andre backing someone down into the lane with vo stepped out and fred hoiberg covering earl boykins in the corner. fred is a good shooter and all but holy crap, i bet i move better on d then he does and i am just a high school basketball player. he doesnt have the quickness to think about covering earl.
3. why in the world would u only give chris anderson 6 minutes???
in 6 minutes he went 2-3 from the field with 4 points, had 3 boards, 1 assist, and a steal. if you give him 20 solid minutes and he keeps the pace he would be around 10 points, 8 boards, 4 assists, and 3 steals or so. not to mention the energy he comes off the bench with. when he comes out he comes out to make a difference not blend in. he gives the nuggets an emotional spark. this kid could be something special but bzdelik is too dumb to see that.
4. i for one am sick of bzdelik's little fued with rodney white. this kid is another stud and for some reason rides the bench. he brings a different dimension to the nuggets. he is a 6'9 player who can play the guard spot as well as forward. he is a true scorer. something that the nuggets lack when melo, vo, and earl are on the bench. he Ranked #6 in the NBA in Field Goals Per 48 Minutes for god sakes. i personaly was at game three and he was put into the game once the nuggets had the game well in hand and ended up with 6 BIG points and 3 boards in only 8 mins before hurting his ankle.
5. if you look back over the year you will see that when the nuggetes dont run up and down the court they suck. they get their *** kicked most of the time. this i contribute to bad coaching. now you can go two way with this if u are a coach. first you can preach run, run, run. when some one on the team slows the tempo, put their *** on the bench and get someone who is willing to run out there. dont allow your players to fall back into bad habits. or two, work on offensive patterns so that when running isnt a possibillity you are not screwed. the nuggets have all kinds of players that create matchup problems that can drive coaches nuts but bzdelik cant get his players to work on these things. they have all proven that they can succeed in a slow tempo game. for ex. camby was in new york half of his career and they played a slow tempo game every night, andre proved he can do it because when he was with the cavs they didnt run people too often they were an everage running team and he was top in the league in assists, melo's syracuse team didnt run teams to death either, they were solid all the way around. barry was in detroit where they dont believe in offense, and vo is a very solid slow tempo shooter off of set screens.
bzdelik truly has brought denver onto the map but come on now. there needs to be a change
what do u all think?

I think you have to keep him. He deserves it. I dont know how loyal the players are towards him, but if they are hiring someone else would probably have a negative effect.
And about White and Anderson. I think White just doesn't bring it every night. Anderson does bring it, but if you played him more I think he would be exposed. His lack of offense kills him.

I think Bzdelik is going to get fired if and only because he seems very inflexible as a coach. Which is not something you want to be when you are a young coach.

Good post.
As for the game four fiasco, I didn't have a problem with the play that was called or Carmelo sitting but I did have a problem with the execution. Erwin Johnson was covering Nene but helped off the weakside to stop Andre's penetration. That left Nene to set a pick in the corner for Voshon. Voshon was an idiot and went baseline. Had he gone to the top he would've had an open look.
Bzdelik's rotations have been awful all year long. Many times, they don't even make sense. He seems to give certain players preferential treatment, too.
His feud with Rodney White is self-explanatory. He just has never given this kid a chance and the whole situation is childish.
Bzdelk should be given a lot of credit for getting this team where it is. He's done a great job. Unfortunately, he's proven he doesn't understand the X's and O's of the NBA. Kiki knows this too. Bzdelik will be fired pretty soon. He has no chance of returning.
