Sheed Re-signs!

At that time, the Pistons also will announce the signing of free agent Rasheed Wallace, their starting power forward. A person close to the negotiations said Wallace would agree to a five- or six-year deal that pays $10 million the first year and had a 12.5 percent raise each season. The total value of the contract would be $48 million or $64 million.

The numbers don't add up, so I'm waiting for an ESPN article to see what we're paying him.

Good and good. We have Wallace X2 back for another run and with Dice in the fold LB has another toy to play with. Now we have to get our backup PG situation handled and our roster will be pretty much set.

I havn't heard of any offers to Mike James or Hunter so thats a good sign we can get them back cheap if we want.

I thought I heard we are gonna sign Hunter. Yeah it's good to get Sheed back I'm pumped about that but I'm still thinkin we may have overpiad him.
five- or six-year deal that pays $10 million the first year and had a 12.5 percent raise each season. The total value of the contract would be $48 million or $64 million.
How could it be $48 mill for at least 5 years starting at $10 mill with 12.5% raises????? I heard it went up to 5 years $55 million but we'll have to wait and see.

I'm sure he will hear the exacts later in the week. As long as he plays here that is all that matters right now.

Good Luck to Sheed and the Pistons in 2005. Anyways, you guys gonna ever play Darko?? You sign Dice and Sheed? I don't see where he is gonna get time unless Dice goes down.

How much he is being paid isn't as important as the length. With all the talent on this team we were bound to go over the cap sooner or later. As long as we continue to win, I doubt Bill Davidson will have a problem paying the luxury tax.

Sign Hunter and James to one year deals at the minimum. Then we can fill in the end of the bench as needed.

Darko is going play more this year but it won't be a lot more. Wallace x2 are the obvious starters but the backups are Dice who is a question mark health wise and Elden is old. I am sure he will get more quality minutes this year but he def won't be the first guy off the bench. After next year Elden is gone so two years from now is when Darko will be in the lineup consistently IMO.
