If Carmelo was a Piston

Carmelo Continues To Learn From Mistakes
In the DENVER POST, Anthony Cotton writes that "Tuesday evening's ugly 80-68 exhibition win over Turkey added yet another chapter to Carmelo Anthony's trial by fire. After missing four field-goal attempts in seven first-half minutes, the young forward was benched for the rest of the night." USA Basketball head coach Larry Brown "has stressed the importance of ball movement to get defenses out of position." The future All-Star got away from that philosophy during yesterday's game, but "Brown said he wouldn't be surprised if Anthony resumed doing those things beginning with today's practice." http://click.nba.com/index.cfm?n150...e63399668o71791

I think he would be in the same situation that Darko is in, if you cant play the right way, you wont be in there.

Thank god this waste of space isn't on the Pistons.

I realize you guys won a title and you can act like not drafting Melo was a genius move by Dumars. But waste of space?

I think being that critical of melo is going a little overboard, but he did look horrible in that game, holding the ball for 7 seconds only to get tied up by two defenders, getting spun twice on a 2-1 fast break, shooting a three with time left on the clock and coming up way short, drawing contact and adjusting his shot - so much that it went over the backboard. it was hard to watch

Actually he was complaining during the season, I remember an article of that at nba.com.

Yea, if bricking jumpshots and shooting poorly from the line means adding hell of an offensive.

The first part was completely meant to be a joke.

And while I may not think Darko is this All-World Player some other people do, it's hard to find your rhythm playing 2 minutes every 5th game.

You Darko fans crack me up. I love most Detroit fans, and the team they put together, and even agree that "maybe" and its a pretty big maybe, if you drafted Melo instead, your chemistry may not have been right and you wouldnt be defending champs right now.

But please do not act like Darko is better. Melo is head an shoulder above anything any of you expect from Darko until year 4.
