Re: Pistons Draft
The knock on Julius Hodge is he is skinny right? Well dude just lifted 185 14 times. More than Bogut and the same as David Lee and Chris Taft. None of which are small guys themselves. Hodge needs to be in a Pistons uniform next year.

Re: Pistons Draft
I was surprised to hear Louis Williams has worked out twice for Detroit, seeing as how he is such an enormous project. I love the kid, I've gone to quite a few of his home HS games here in Georgia, but I don't think he has a very good chance of being a HS-to-Pro success story.

Re: Pistons Draft
I think you draft hodge and bigs with the other picks. I think Ricky Paulding will surprise you guys though. He is really good and has the talent to make the roster next year. To see a scotuing report on him check out my personal forum.

The only reason I would shy away from Williams is because we have Arroyo and Billups, two great point guards as it is. Arroyo is a good player, once he learns how to be a good, Larry Brown certified player then we'll really start to roll.
Louis Williams could sit on our bench and develop with Darko, it would be exciting for the future true but I wouldn't pass on Hodge for it.
As far as drafting big guys goes, I am against it unless we can get an obvious steal or one of our guys is leaving over the summer (Campbell?). Year three is definitley time to start letting Darko play. Either that or just take him out behind the barn and shoot him.

Re: Pistons Draft
Louis Williams is in the draft and has gotten a promise from Joe D...
...take it for what it's worth.

Hopefully it's a promise to take him in the second round. We're in a nice position, we need a scorer and guys like Garcia, Hodge, Winston, Head, and McCants are likely to be available at our spot. (At least one of those guys will be.) For Joe D to select Louis Williams ahead of those guys, would cement his place as a poor drafter, imo.

Re: Pistons Draft
Most guys don't take second round promises, because they want the guarenteed first round money and contract. Promising Williams makes sense, I think he's better than where others project him to go (mid 2nd round) and wouldn't lose any sleep over taking him in the 1st round. I would agree though, I want one of the college guards over Williams. I really don't want a PG, unless the Pistons view Williams as more of a SG than PG.

Re: Pistons Draft
These are our picks according to various mock sites as of June 21st...
NBADraft.net - Jarret Jack
DraftExpress.com - Julius Hodge
HoopsHype.com - Jarret Jack
InsideHoops.com - Yarolsav Korolev
I would love Jack if he falls, and Hodge is my favourite other wise...what was InsideHoops thinking?

Re: Pistons Draft
"Jarrett Jack- One NBA team we spoke to has been informed that Jarrett Jack pulled his name out of the draft. Despite the progress that has been made recently, Jack is still worried about the possibility of a lockout next year, and therefore has decided to play it safe and return to college for his senior year. Jack cancelled a workout today with the Grizzlies."
Damn.

I was expecting Jack to go in the lottery, so this doesn't disappoint me as a Pistons fan.

Re: Pistons Draft
So was DraftExpress but it was the only mock site...that I know of at least.
As a Raptors fan on the side though it sucks real bad.
