Can Detroit win without Larry Brown?

I don't think they are nearly as good without Larry Brown. They would make the playoffs but would probably get bounced 2nd or 3rd round without him. Remember the 76'ers/Clippers all dropped considerably when Brown left.

Re: Can Detroit win without Larry Brown?

Well, that's settled then...

No, the only thing we can do is hope our players carry over what they learned from Brown. Of course this would be easier if we had a decent coach filling in. The things that Larry Brown helped best with was developing our vets. Look no further than Rip and Chauncey.

The only problem is we don't have a good track record without Brown. Just look at how poorly we did under Gar Heard. I hope our struggles were caused by Heards presence and not Browns absence. We'll see.

Re: Can Detroit win without Larry Brown?

This team won 50 games with Rick coaching them before Larry. We added Dice and Rasheed and some how we can't be that good without Larry now? Just remember Gar Heard is a horrible head coach.

Re: Can Detroit win without Larry Brown?

I think the team would take a hit without LB, but dont base your decision on Gar Heards ability to lead a team. He would obviously have to be replaced with a good coach and not just another retread.

Re: Can Detroit win without Larry Brown?

I basically agree with Cop. We'd still be good, but you have to think we'd take a step back if we lose one of the best coaches in the league. I don't want to lose LB, and I look forward to next season with a hopefully rejuvanated coach and a fired up Pistons squad.

I agree with you. They should higher a good defensive coach, because that's what I think they'll miss the most without Brown.
