NBA Draft

We picked Jason Maxiell with our first rounder. I don't mind this choice. He seems like another Ben Wallace and that is never a bad thing.

We have two more picks yet. Hodge, Stoudamire, Garcia, L. Williams, Head and Diener are all gone. I think that's the most of the players we discussed for our late first.

I was surprised at Max going in the first, but I am very happy for him. The Pistons board just gained another member

Well, at 56 we got the high schooler PF Amir Johnson, still waiting on number 60

quick comment on Amir Johnson, very talented, amazing dunker, i would buy tickets just to see him play. Good choice on drafting him.

Good to hear, the 60th pick...Alex Acker. Don't know much about him.

Re: NBA Draft

What a truly awful draft. After blowing our first round pick on a horribly undersized power forward in Jason Maxiell, we take two guys in the second round in Amir Johnson and Alex Acker when there were actually good guys still avaliable. This draft gets an F as far as I'm concerned. Even after Maxiell, we had a chance to save it with two of Winston, Walsh, or Banks at #56 and #60 and we take those guys? A draft of Ilyasova, Winston, then Banks could have been sweet, considering Winston and Banks are both first round talents, had Winston stayed at Alabama for a year and had Banks not have so many attitude problems. Going Maxiell, Johnson and Acker is awful...I've never seen a worst draft in my life.

Let me say I like this draft. Maxiell is just the player we needed, he was the only guy with first round talent that had our type of thinking. Johnson was a perfect pick, he is a huge talent that should be a heck of player. I would guess he is starting the year in the NBDL. Acker is a guy I've seen play once and he was decent. He has solid shooting, he just needs to get agressive.

I want to puke. All we needed was a scorer. Gomes is sitting right there. Joe blew it.

Re: NBA Draft

has joe ever let you down yet?

I would slice off my brother's kidney if it meant 2 finals appearances and 1 championship in the past 2 years.

By the way, there was a poster who thought ilyasova should have been the pistons first rounder; he is compared to radmanovic as a player, and I think even the bucks taking him at 36 may have been a reach.

Re: NBA Draft

Hey Hirschmanz... Yes, Joe has let us down. Look at his draft history. He's great with trades and personel moves for the most part... but his draft history is just... eww. Tayshaun Prince may be his ONLY good draft pick so far (though I love Darko, he hasn't proven anything yet).
