Player Evaluation 04-05: Rasheed Wallace
Player Evaluation - Rasheed Wallace
Second year as a Piston
34.0 MPG, 14.5 PPG, 8.2 RPG, 1.8 APG, .440 FG%
This is not a poll rating how good are players are. We've been talking about that for the last 3 years. What we're seeing now is how well the 2004-2005 roster lived up to our expectations.

Re: Player Evaluation 04-05: Rasheed Wallace
The presence he had after first coming to Detroit last year didn't seem to carry over to this year. The Rasheed Wallace missing piece factor just wasn't there. I hope he can come back better next year. We can't have him disappearing or brain farting on the court.

He was the only player I gave a passing grade to in game 7 of the finals and for that he gets an "above" rating from me. When it matter most, Sheed brought his game.

But a game 7 wouldn't be necessary if he hadn't messed up in game 5. You knew it was gonna be said sooner or later! I was just holding him in higher regard than maybe I should have. Last year he seemed like a revolutionary step in Pistons basketball. This year he felt like a normal transaction.

As my coaches always said, one play doesn't lose a game, you usually have 48 minutes of them to do the trick

Fair enough, and my dad's told me the same thing about my personal basketball career, but you can't help but think otherwise. Besides it's not like he played amazing the first 47:55 either.

We could also make the case if Ben Wallace was a 70 percent free throw shooter we might be undefeated lol.

Taking a glance back at the whole series I expected more out of Rasheed and it is symbolic of the whole season in general. I thought he was going to be the star of our starters but he seemed to shy away from that whenever he got the chance. My opinion on this one doesn't change.
