Re: LB on Stoney and Wojo
I heard this interview today....You can tell that he is really, really hurt by Davidson calling him a bad person....he mentioned that like 5-6 times easily....That was a nasty breakup.....When Wojo asked him if he had a good relationship with Davidson..Brown said "I guess not".....
I think this could be the first Detroit sports figure to be hated after winning the city a title....its wierd....
With that being said....I wish Brown the best...thanks for the title but it is time for you to move on

Do I support the way Davidson and Dumars went around slamming the **** out of Brown and ruining his reputation in Detroit? Hell no. They're ****ing *****s.
But you know what, this is not a game... this is sport. And if this firing of Brown and hiring of Saunders elevates the team to another level I 100% support the move, if not the methods.
They could have eliminated him without making him look like a low down dirty scumbag.

I, on the other hand, don't support a coach that flirts with other franchises while his team is playing in the NBA Finals. The Detroit Pistons are playing in the NBA Finals and all the media can talk about is where Larry Brown will go next. Larry could have shot all that outside stuff down, but he relishes the Larry Brown show.

Re: LB on Stoney and Wojo
I don't know if it was right for the Pistons to say all that stuff to the public but Larry did do a lot wrong here. He flirted with a few other teams and may have broke a major rule violation with one, on top of that everyone knew he wanted the Knicks job and not the pistons. Larry should have just came out and said he wanted to leave.

I don't think Larry wanted to leave.
And I think it was more a case of the media saying it so many times everyone started to assume it was true.
I like Larry just as much today as I did this time last year. My opinion of Bill Davidson has changed though.

Re: LB on Stoney and Wojo
Larry is cool in my eyes, he made a few mistakes, most notably the "Dream Job" comment and the "going to Cleveland rumors" (I had the biggest problem with this one), but I learned that's just the type of person he is. He's much too honest, sometimes too honest for his own good. I think it became quite obvious it was time for him to leave town. There were just way to many question marks. I would've loved for him to stay, but with him not knowing if he could coach for an entire season we had to make a move. I wish him well.

Re: LB on Stoney and Wojo
I don't think Dumars had anything to do with this, and if it were up to him, Larry would still be coach. I think Joe was worried about the health thing, but this was totally Davidson's call.
Davidson has now, in the span of 2 years, fired 2 of the 5 best coaches in the NBA claiming "they were not good people". I gave him the benefit with Carlisle, now the same thing has happened to Brown and I don't think the problem is with the coaches.

Re: LB on Stoney and Wojo
When in doubt, trust the guy that's bailed on every team he's ever been a part of and who was taking job offers during the season.
It comes down to credibility. If you think Joe Dumars has less credibility in this situation than Larry Brown... I can't believe how many people have gotten suckered with LB doing what he ALWAYS does
