OT: could you?

I am stealing this from the morning show on DFN but I think it is pretty good summer topic. Could you do certain things in sports. The first one for example is can you beat Ben Wallace in a FT competition. You and Ben both take 10 shots. He is a career 41% shooter at the FT line. So you would probably have to make 5 or 6 to beat him. I consider myself a decent FT shooter so I think I should be able to make at least 6. Could you?

Re: OT: could you?

I honestly think in practice these guys pretty much make all their FT's or Ben can make at least 8 out of 10. Anyways I think that would be my best bet, or beating Elden in a foot race.

He's just around to give Pudge a few nights off every once and awhile. If Pudge really got hurt, look for Shelton or Inge to catch.

Re: OT: could you?

a. Vance Wilson - He's in the majors, you aren't in triple-A. He was a career .270AVG/.330OBP before this season began.... The thing is, the Tigers are giving him less time out there in the rhythm than he has ever had before. Give him regular time he'll get on base over 30% of the time. Mind you, that isn't good enough to start... but it is better than you'll ever do in your wildest dreams.

b. Beating Ben Wallace? Well, I was carjacked and pistolwhipped last week and I'm now permanently blind in my left eye (well, they give me a 1 in 50 chance of seeing again after my next surgery on this coming Monday)... so I think he'll take me until I learn to shoot without depth perception which could be a hell of a task. So my answer is no.

I was thinking that maybe it was a mental thing for Wallace and he does shoot better in practice but I doubt it. His ft shot is so messed up that I doubt he shoots much better than that in practice.

I think he was just joking since Vance has had trouble hitting the ball lately. Thats what I took it as anyway.
