Yup and they're part of the game.
Since the 95-96 season Shaq has only averaged 64 games a season, it shouldn't be a suprise to anyone that he's banged up come time for the playoffs, it's part of his package. Wade has been banged up as well his first two years and his playing style doesn't help him prevent those injuries one bit.

Re: Pistons continue to court Finley
The thing about injuries is that they are part of the game, obviously. I've said it at least three times on this website "Longevity/durability is just as an important trait for a player to have in this league as a jumpshot." That's why Vince Carter wasn't goign to make Toronto a real success anytime so they traded him, and there is no question that played the biggest factor in the Raptors getting so little in return for him.
Shaquille O'Neal also has very poor durability, and like CJ said he only averages 64 games per season. Combine that with the few years he has left. Are the futures of Lamar Odom and Caron Butler worth the 200 games you're going to get from Shaquille O'Neal? I doubt that. There's no way I make that deal. Once Shaquille O'Neal leaves and the Miami Heat are lucky to get home court in the playoffs you are stuck with a frontcourt of Antoine Walker, Udonis Haslem, Michael Doleac and Christian Laettner. Aside from Dwayne Wade and to a lesser extent Jason Williams, one of the most undesirable playoff teams in the league. Shaquille O'Neal hasn't got much left in the tank, and the window is closing. The Heat realize this, and that is why they bet the farm this summer because they know that O'Neal isn't going to be there much longer.
Pat Riley took a gamble, he wanted to win in the next three years. One year has gone by and they didn't. If the Heat win in the next two years the deal will be a success but let's be serious, quick fixes never get the job done. Which is why the better front offices will forever dominate the NBA. Just look at the Spurs and the Pistons.

Finley!!!!
Who do you all want finley to go? For me it would be Minnesota because the other 3 are all threats to us and i dont want the heat with that deep of a bench or san antonio for that matter.

Re: Finley!!!!
I wanted him to goto SA. They dont have enough touches to go around with all those guys now either. If he would have went to Miami we would never have heard the end of it.

Re: Finley!!!!
Don't get worried about Finley, he's only one man. If anything I'm glad to see Bowen on the bench
