Re: Pistons vs. Minnesota - Preseason game #3

Wow look how silent the thread becomes when casebeck is not around Shows how much contribution he makes to the play-by-play.

Darko had a pretty solid game from the box. He missed all his shots but he got 10-12 free throws and every one of the Pistons 6 blocks. I'm glad Dupree got some playing time too, at least give him a chance to prove himself. Again a pretty good game from the bench and Sheed did a hell of a job defensively on Garnett. From what i hear though, I should be a little disappointed with our offense.

Anyone who watched the game have any thoughts?

Sheed played another productive and intense game. He didn't drift to the outside (took one, open three, but missed) and looked dominating out there.

Rip was once again working on his play-making skills and did a decent job. He threw four alleyoops to Ben but they managed to convert 2/4.

Chauncey was average. He put in some 'here and there' but didn't do much to stand out in any way.

Ben made two or three tough shots and was his usual self in the defense & rebounding departments.

Prince got multiple opportunities in the first quarter through set plays but missed afew 'bunnies' inside the paint.

Darko looked like a seasoned veteran out there tonight. He had 6 blocks, 2 were against Eddie Griffin shooting a jump shot and Darko just shot up there to deflect them. Once again, he had a case of the butterfingers when it came to the rebounding-- he still was 'ok' and snagged acouple nice rebounds over T'Wolve players. He didnt convert on his field goals but he looked very comfortable in the post and demanded the ball down low. Another good game of mixing it up inside and outside on offense, though he missed the two jumpers he took. Even though his range shoots weren't there tonight he found a way to be productive and got to the line 12 times-- he has a very effective free throw shot especially for a 7footer.

Delfino was a spark on both sides of the ball. He had some IMPRESSIVE moves to drive and converted some challenging layups/finger rolls. Dolphin also distributed the ball well and has some cute dimes. Great on fastbreak.

Dupree played with high energy and was very efficient from everywhere on the court. He had some dunks, a tough lay up , a turn around J, and acouple jumpshots all made. Good rebounding and defense as well.

Re: Pistons vs. Minnesota - Preseason game #3

Thanks.

Dupree is making it so hard to cut him. I know Dumars is high on Amir and Acker but I hope he really thinks over this decision before he cuts him. Every time Dupree gets an opportunity to play, he always impresses - remember last year when Dupree was fighting an uphill battle against Ham for that last playoff spot.. he clinched that when he was given the chance to show what he could do.

I suppose it is a good problem since it just means we have that much depth, but I hope DUmars thinks a lot about this before he decides to cut Dupree.

Btw how did Darko pick up his free throws? Did he get fouled going hard to the hoop every time or was he being timid?

And yeah sheefo i checked out your wolves thread. Sorry i couldn't post there during the game, i wasn't unable to go on the computer as i was in an exam. Good game though

You are most welcome.

10, maybe all 12 of the FT were from post ups in the paint. He went to the line two times on dunk attempts, man the kid can get up there in a hurry. Very, very good news.

Re: Pistons vs. Minnesota - Preseason game #3

Unfortunately I had to miss the game but Im glad to see the continued progress of Big D. The bench appears to be strong this year and that should really help out the starting five in the long run.

Re: Pistons vs. Minnesota - Preseason game #3

Another solid game for the subs. I like what Im seeing from Darko, and Evans. Delfino looks good when he is being assertive. Dyess has been far from stellar for the most part but Im sure he'll crank it up when the season starts.

It does indeed, but once the season starts and everyone gets back into the full swing of things we'll have the normal game threads with lineups, stats, analysis, and hopefully casebeck's play by play.

Re: Pistons vs. Minnesota - Preseason game #3

We're currently discussing what we are going to do about play by play, once we have that settled we can figure out who will do the play by play We think we're on the right track to find something that will really help out this board.
