The game was close throughout until the fourth quarter when Devin Harris scored 13 of his 20 points as the Mavericks closed off a 94-88 preseason victory over the Detroit Pistons. The Mavericks opened the fourth quarter with a 13-1 run, giving them a 79-68 lead. The Pistons would never be able to close that gap. Detroit cut the lead to 90-88 on Jason Maxiell's jumper with 19 seconds remaining, but Harris answered with a layup on the other end to seal a victory for the Dallas Mavericks.
