Dupree traded to T-Wolves

He was traded for a second round pick according to a thread on the T-Wolves board.

I guess this mean for sure Acker will be on the team which is a very good move in my opinon I think he can be a good player in this league.

Re: Dupree traded to T-Wolves

It was on Detroit radio, and a friend of mine confirmed it as well. Good for both teams I think, from what I understood you guys were going to release him anyways.

Re: Dupree traded to T-Wolves

Defenitely a good thing for Dupree and the wolves, the Pistons get a 2nd round pick for him and that is better than the alternative. I always liked Dupes but we have a log jam at the 3 so I could see the writting on the wall.

Re: Dupree traded to T-Wolves

Quote:
MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - Looking for more size in their frontcourt, the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday acquired forward Ronald Dupree from the Detroit Pistons for a future second-round draft pick.

The 6-7 Dupree played in 47 games for the Pistons last season, averaging 3.2 points and 2.0 points. He averaged 6.2 points as a rookie with Chicago in 2003.

"Ronald is a solid defensive player and we wanted to get another big defender at the small forward position," Timberwolves president of basketball operations Kevin McHale said.

Dupes was one of those high flyin, high energy guys that a team can never have enough of. I am sorry to lose him and hope the best for him .

I am a fan of Dupree but Mo Evans is just a similar player who is better in every phase of the game.

That's something the Wolves don't have any of, and are in desperate need of. The Wolves also waived Ndudi Ebi to make a roster spot for this trade.

Re: Dupree traded to T-Wolves

Ebi was the guy I expected to get cut since he wasn't eligible for the NBDL.

Re: Dupree traded to T-Wolves

Yeah it was a nice move for the Wolves. I would have preffered to keep Dupree and let someone else go but I can see why Dumar did it. He tends to think more practically rather than with his emotions. Keeping all these rookies for future years and trading for draft picks; it really looks like he's really making sure the Pistons are set for the future.

Wasn't going to play so at least we got something for him. Good athlete no jumpshot his legacy as a piston is the skills competition last year at the ASG.
