Stein: New Power Rankings

Current #2 (Last week #3) Pistons 3-0 - The opposition hasn't been top-shelf, true, but the transition to the new coach seems to be off to a rather smooth, focused start.
|
We jumped over Indy to nab #2 as they fall to #3. Heat fall from 5th to 9th. Bucks move up to 5th.
I know it doesn't mean anything but it's always nice to see ESPN value the Pistons correctly.

27 (20) Knicks 0-3 With an 0-3 start and the next six games on the road out West, is it too early to say Larry misses Pistons more than they miss him?

 All I have to say

Re: Stein: New Power Rankings
I was gonna post about LB and his 0-3 record so far, but I may as well post it in here. I know it's his dream job, but I don't think even he knew it would be this tough. You already know Zeke's going to make another trade, but if anyone can pull them out of that rut, it's LB.
As for us, we've done exactly what we should do. We beat Philly pretty handedly, won a tough one on the road, and blew out a NBA team by 30 points.

I don't like the amount of trades Zeke makes. At some point people have to have time to gel and his constant overturning of the roster to try and win now, hurts their ability to win IMO.

No doubt. But with the cap the way it was and N.Y.'ers lack of patience for a winner he really had no choice. But as the Pistons, Spurs, Pacers, etc. show continuity is the way to go to form a real winner.

Agreed Agreed. If I were Zeke I would be trying to fix the cap problem but he seems to just not really care about it. I can't say there is anything wrong with that since they can afford to pay the luxury tax but it just hurts to never be that effective in free agentcy.

Re: Stein: New Power Rankings
I don't know if he or anyone could fix that cap, but he certainly doesn't help things by trading for guys like Malik Rose, and giving big contracts to guys like Jerome James and Jamal Crawford. I love Zeke as much as the next Piston fan, but I'm glad we have his backcourt mate as our GM.

Re: Stein: New Power Rankings
why do people care about the rankings so much?
all that matters is which team is holding the nba trophy at the end of the season.
anyway, nice to see us move up.

Welcome to the board. And that is all that matters, but in the meantime we need something to talk about. Having a 3-0 team doesn't leave you a whole lot to talk about.

Exactly what I was going to say. We need stuff to argue about and when your undefeated, you have to go out and find info
