Re: Game Thread: Game #16: Golden State Warriors vs Detroit Pistons
great game so far.
Billups with a nice drive to the basket. The Warriors seemed to be in slow motion on that play.

If I'm the Warriors, I don't foul Hamilton, and force him to get it out before 8 seconds. It's pretty much automatic with Rip.

Re: Game Thread: Game #16: Golden State Warriors vs Detroit Pistons
after the 3 by Jrich, Billups is fouled. put 2 for the Pistons. 9 secs left. 104-101

Re: Game Thread: Game #16: Golden State Warriors vs Detroit Pistons
That is some crazy stupid everything by the Warriors. No discipline whatsoever.
You have Ben all the way back and Rasheed throws the ball all the way backcourt and gets Ben to throwdown the dunk. Dunleavy is an idiot. Should have fouled him one of the worst FT shooters in the game.
Then Fisher dribbles downcourt and heaves a desperation 3 with a couple seconds left on the clock.
Pistons show they are veteran and heady team

Re: Game Thread: Game #16: Golden State Warriors vs Detroit Pistons
I expected the Pistons to take a double-digit win over the Warriors, so it was a pleasant surprise to see a close game.
Good win for the Pistons. Don't fail to prove everyone right about how good they are.

I think that if you got ahold of another angle of the Ben dunk you would see Dunleavy making a desperate lunge at the pass, misjudging its distance. He probably thought he could intercept it and that put him out of range to get at Ben to foul, you notice that he was trying to get the foul, he simply couldn't because his momentum was carrying him the wrong way in the first place.
I was thinking about leading this post off by asking if anybody wanted to hear a joke, and then saying "Mike Dunleavy." But I figured that that would be a little cruel. Personally... I think that he was one of the key reasons that the Warriors lost. His defensive execution tonight was a joke (I haven't watched him enough to know if this is a regular thing). He was softer than warm roll out there. He had the chance to draw a charge on some late points by Billups on the break, and he just kept moving backwards backwards backwards, where if he would have simply planted his feet... boom, charge call.
Rasheed came up huge against the GSW bigs, Ben played pretty good defense and looked like his ankles are coming along fine, and the Pistons executed down the stretch, as everyone has said thus far. Good win, I'm proud of the way they came out of it tonight.

Re: Game Thread: Game #16: Golden State Warriors vs Detroit Pistons
That turned into a pretty entertaining game. Rasheed just kind of went crazy in the fourth quarter- came up with some huge plays on both ends of the court. Chauncey, as usual, was clutch as well.
But yes, Mike Dunleavy is awful. I have no idea why the Warriors resigned him. If you ask me, there focus should be on seeing how fast they can get Mickael Pietrus into the starting lineup.

Re: Game Thread: Game #16: Golden State Warriors vs Detroit Pistons
i was really impressed with the warriors, that was the best backcourt ive seen against the pistons this year. jrich has really blossomed into a very good player. if pietrus can play small forward and one of either diougo(sp) or the other guy i wont even try to spell pans out, they will be a very good team

What a tough loss for the Warriors. Agreed, the Dunleavy play was stupid (putting it lightly). Yes...that is a regular occurance with Mike D. He's never been known as a defender at ANY level. Being at the game, the angle I had (behind the Pistons' basket), it looked like Mike tried to foul Ben--and missed. Utterly stupid play by Mike D.
Rasheed's performance reinforced him as the last piece that made the Pistons a championship caliber team. Nice, unstoppable moves. Half the time, the Warriors' bigs played him decently, to no avail.
I predicted a good, tight game, and got what I expected. I can only hope that the rematch in Detroit is as competitive.
Good luck the rest of the way, Pistons!
