Who knows where we'd be with any of those guys? Any of them would not be the player they are right now with their respective teams if they were drafted by the Pistons. They would have never been given the chance to prove themselves. You can't honestly tell me that Wade would put up the same numbers on the Pistons, because he'd be trapped behind Billups and Hamilton. Same with Anthony with Prince. Bosh is the one I'd take of the three, but his playing time would be limited as well.

No, we can't really be mad at any decision the front office makes. Joe Dumars is without a doubt one of the two best GM's in the league. You trust any move that he makes, and even if this one time doesn't work out as best as possible you don't get angry because Dumars will fix it. I have total faith in this front office, as far as we all know Darko could be the best choice for this team, maybe Anthony would have come here and disrupted our core, perhaps Wade came here and we ended up losing Hamilton over free agency those few summers ago, we would not be the team we are today with either of those other players, and the team we are today is the second best team the Eastern Conference has seen in the last 20 years.

I agree fully with Froggy. We have a championship. The only man that I think would have cracked the starting lineup, of the mentioned players, is Carmelo Anthony. If Melo had been drafted, Prince would have been dealt, this is obvious. It is the type of move any front office would make. Of course, Dumars was satisfied with Prince and made the decision that DID lead to pair of appearances in the NBA Finals and an NBA Championship.

You might ask about Bosh... he would be in the SAME situation Darko was in for the past two years. This year I could see Bosh cracking the lineup with equal minutes to McDyess, if only because of his intensity which Flip would take over Darko's lackadaisical attitude.

You might ask about Wade... he would have been given a chance as a backup point man behind Chauncey Billups, but in that role I don't think I see him blossoming into the player that he is. Getting playing time was huge for him his rookie year as a starter, he made strides slowly over the course of that season until the playoffs where he finally showed he was ready to lead. As a backup that metamorphosis may never have occurred.

So no, I'm not mad. We have a championship, two finals appearances, and the best record in the NBA at present.
