Chucky's Return (Also Rebraca news)
Chucky Atkins returned to the line-up tonight after missing 5 games. Pepe Sanchez heads to the IL. Although he didn't do anything spectatular tonight, Chucky looked pretty solid. With the way Chauncey is playing that's all we need right now: solid play out of our back-up point guard. Hubert didn't get any minutes tonight and to me that's a good sign.
It appears Zelly wants to make a return for the playoffs. The question I have is, where does he fit in? With the way Memo is playing right now, I don't see where Zelly is going to get any minutes. He's a pretty good post presence, but I feel Memo offers more. I suppose you can't have too many big bodies in the playoffs, and in that case Zelly will help.

Yeah I'm not sure where he would fit into the rotation either. Memo's playing great and I can't imagine that he'll be in good shape anyway. With that said, hopefully we can get a look at him in the last few games of the season to determine how he's playing in game situations. Like you said you can never have enough big bodies, but I couldn't imagine hime giving us anymore than 15 minutes a game. Which would be great.

If he can play at a consistenly high level (which seems doubtful with his heart at this point) I think he could help us. He is a good low post scorer and a pretty good defender.

We want to keep Memo happy and confident if we take his minutes away just like that to give them to a injured dude it might set him back a bit. I do not know toom uch about Rebracca but I nkow Memo can shoot the lights out fora big man and I like what he brings to the table. Maybe we could trade Rebracca in the offseason to a team who needs big guys, Milwaukee maybe?

I don't think they should play Rebraca at all. Wait until next season and trade him while he is still tradeable. Why take minutes away from Memo and possibly scare many teams off if Rebraca plays bad?

^^ To KABI and Lionsfan01, I don't think it's an issue of taking Memo's minutes away. You can never have enogh big bodies, especially on the East. If Zelly can come in, which I don't expect, and just give us 10 solid minutes that's a plus. Zelly if healthy enough could provide another post presence besides Corliss. All that said we shouldn't really expect much from Zelly seeing as though he hasn't played in months and had a heart problem.
Also i don't know if teams could get anymore scared of Zelly. He doesn't have a sprained knee or broken bones in his hands, he has an irregular heartbeat.

I dont want to see Okurs minutes being takin away in the playoffs. It might not happen anyway because Rebraca wants to return for the playoffs but it is not guarenteed.

Here's a suggestion: Instead of taking Memo's minutes away, we take some of the minutes away from Cliffy and Mikey Curry. Cliffy has been struggling something horrible lately, and it just appears father time is catching up with him. I'm not going to try to understand why we gave him the contract extension as early as we did. His shooting percentage has been horrid.
So 5 minutes from Curry + 5 minutes from Cliffy = 10 minutes for Zelly.
How's about it?

Jvanbsk, this is what I have been trying to get at. I guess I have a problem writing down what's going on in my head. Maybe that's why you're going to U-M and I'm at State. Did i just say that...

I also wanted to devise a little math equation since that's what I might want to major in.
