72-10 record?
Last year you guys got off to a bad start. You guys are known for turning it up in the later part of season, but this year you guys are already 21-3 and extremely hard to beat. I havent watched the Pistons this season yet. Where did those 3 losses come from? Do you think the Pistons can finish 72-10 or better? If not, how close do you think theyll get?

Re: 72-10 record?
Good news bad news
Good news if we win our next two we would have the same record the 96 bulls had at the time. The bad news is they won there next 18 in a row.
I think mid 60's is realistic at this point.

Re: 72-10 record?
I don't see us beating the Bulls record, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who can say it's been in the back of our minds. It won't happen. I will say it right now, we are one losing streak away from blowing it and I don't think we are at that level. The last team at that high of a level was those Bulls. It's insane.
PS. We lost to Dallas too.
PPS. I hope I'm wrong.

Re: 72-10 record?
Lope hit it square on the nose. I've had it in the back of my mind for the past seven to ten games. And it is still on my mind, after every win I look at it and wonder how many losses we can afford in the next ten and still be on pace for 72.
I don't think it will happen, but until we fall off of the pace I'm going to have fun counting the victories.

Re: 72-10 record?
I believe, until another 8 teams come along how can I not believe? This win over the spurs tonight makes me believe it has a real chance of happening too. We just swept a 4 game in 5 night strech too. These guys are unreal right now is it too early for a Billups for MVP cry yet???

Re: 72-10 record?
23-2 was the record of that Bulls team...we're 22-3. I think the team is doing great, but I can't even comprehend the fact that this is the second best start in NBA history. Eight weeks in and we've lost three games, we lost four games in ten days in the pre-season alone.

Re: 72-10 record?
I have a feeling that Detroit is about due to have some injury problems....I have this feeling because I think Flip is playing the starters too much....72-10 probably wont happen....but I have no doubt in my mind that they will win the title this year...

Keep in mind, the '96 Bulls didn't lose their 4th game until game 45. That's pretty long way to go for Pistons.

Very good point, almost proves that the likelihood of this happening is close to zilch.

I have the same fears about Flip overplayin the starters...the biggest problem with this isnt the record, its the developement of the bench

Re: 72-10 record?
I hope Flip can find a way to get the starters minutes down by about 2 more minutes per game. None of the starters are playing more minutes than they did last year, with Sheed being the only one, and his minutes are only up .3.
I still think there not going to win 70, but 67 looks like a good number right about now. As long as they get HC throughout, I'll be a happy man.

Re: 72-10 record?
The Bulls record is a tough one to beat, but if it was up to any team to do it, it would definitely be the Pistons. I just hope Midnight_Marauder and Copper's fears don't come true, as it would make for an interesting season if it came close.
