Legler just cracks me up.
He wrote a story on ESPN that just had me laughing.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailyd...ilydime-051230
I don't have time to post the quotes and stuff with me at work, but basically it's him talking about how the Heat will still prevail at the end of the season. I'll leave you guys to read it and be amused like myself. The parts that made me laugh were these two.
1) The Pistons have no answer for Shaq and he still gets all he wants. Duh! He's Shaq give me one team that has his answer. My take on this one is to ask Legler if Shaq is ready to play the ENTIRE game then. Honestly I think he's been spewing the same stuff for the last 4 seasons now and just checks his old notes changing team names.
2) He mentioned how the Heat were tied with two minutes to go with the Pistons playing "at the absolute top of their game". This just points out that this guy has watched maybe a handful of Piston games. They were far from their best last night and had the same level of intensity through the first 2 1/2 quarters that they had during the Raptors game a couple nights ago. They were sloppy and just playing really until they finally kicked it up a bit at the end.
Anyways, I should work I suppose.

Re: Legler just cracks me up.
That is just garbage
How much better do you expect the heat to play?
Dwade was 14-20
Jwill was 8-16
Shaq was 11-21
The heat as at team shot almost 53%
Offensively I don't see how they can play any better. We were also missing our best defender of Dwade. I do think the ECF will be very close and could come down to who has HC.

Re: Legler just cracks me up.
Legler is out of his mind if he thinks the Pistons played at the top of their game. we can play much better than we did last night. The game last night consisted of us getting a lot of runs, but we had a lot of moments where it seemed like we couldn't get things going offensively, and the defense actually wasn't as good as we're used to seeing, but it's not much you can do when Wade was hitting the shots he was.
As for Shaq, that's exactly our plan. Let him get what he can, tire him out because of the workload, and try to shut down the rest of the squad (besides Wade). We may be the only team in the league who plays Shaq straight up and so far it has given us more wins that losses so their is no reason to change that plan. Shaq's been doing this to us for a couple of years now, he dominates the early parts of the games, but by the time the 4th quarter rolls around he's either tired or doesn't get the ball altogether. Whether you blame it on fatigue or the offense going away from him at the end of games, it's been effective.

Re: Legler just cracks me up.
Im glad Im not the only one who thought the Pistons were floating for the first half, that was no where near the way weve been playing and to hear Legler say they were at the top of their game was hillarious. I dont think Shaq and Wade can play any better and still try to keep their teammates involved, they could try to take over the game themselves and post higher #s....but without involving their teammates I dont think that gives them a chance in the post season.

The Heat don't have that sort of chemistry yet. Shaquille O'Neal is still getting into shape, Pat Riley is still getting a handle on things, and overall the team plays as if they're coming out of training camp
|
How many seasons does Shaq need to get in shape? This is the most ridiculous excuse in the history of mankind. Credibility? Lost.

Of course they can be beat, but if history tells us anything, it will not be by Miami. Credibility? Still not found.

Re: Legler just cracks me up.
on paper miami looks the part, the problem is payton and walker are over the hill, i was actually impressed with the play of jayson williams and dwayne wade. shaq just isnt going to give the effort in a seven game series(playing big minutes). the pistons played like champs, the only thing you would have to worry about if you were them is the large amount of minutes their frontcourt has played over the last couple of years. if one of the wallaces were to go down they would be in serious trouble.(i guess you could say that about a lot of teams)

Even with all of Miami's problems -- the poor perimeter defense, the lack of cohesion, and Shaq's inability to finish the game strongly -- and even with the Pistons playing at the absolute top of their game, and in perfect health, the game was tied with two minutes to go, in Detroit.

Right here is proof that that jack *** doesn't follow the pistons. Ever heard of Lindsey Hunter our best on ball defender? He hasn't played a game this season.

Tim Legler has always struck me as the type of guy that talks really loudly and says stuff that he doesn't even believe.

Re: Legler just cracks me up.
Main notes...
a. The Pistons drifted for all but a quarter and a half. They drifted through the 2nd and 4th quarters (basically playing even with Miami, not worrying about outscoring them). Half of the first quarter, really only a third, they scored 15 points in those four minutes. Then coasted. In the third they basically took a lead, and then after that they played in cruise control and held even with Miami.
As for Legler... he's an idiot. No need to dignify any of his words with response, you all covered it for me.
-Chris.
