GSW intrested in Darko?
D.Fisher, Chaney, Zarko and phily 1st rounder next year
for
C.Arroyo and Darko.
You guys get a great back up with rings, 2 players that have expiring contracts and a first round pick

i dont know how dollars would lineup but i think gsw would and should be interested. they need someone in the middle there and i think worse case scenario darko could be a memo okur type down the road. i think if you're dumars you need something in return to save face, i dont know that fisher and co. fills that requirement. i think a couple of guys that might make sense would be a troy murphy or an ike diagu. i'm hoping something gets done sooner than later.

Re: GSW intrested in Darko?
I don't know what to think about that... Although the 1st Round pick from Philly is intriguing. I'd rather have one of the Atlanta 1st rounders via Phoenix for this year, though... Meh... as long as we get a 1st rounder I'm not too begrudging of a deal right now.

By the way, it does work under the bargaining agreement 25% salary rule... so yeah, it COULD happen. Although I don't know where draft picks fit into the salary rule.

Re: GSW intrested in Darko?
We'd have to get players I think. Pietrus and Biedrins would probably have to be the starting point.
It doesn't hurt the Pistons not to trade Darko, he's not disrupting the team or anything like that and we have no glaring needs.
As much as we like to complain about Carlos Arroyo, remember last year when we were playing Anthony Goldwire?
I don't think draft picks have a lot of value right now, even good ones. A ton of high schoolers and a ton of quality underclassman have come out the last two years. It's going to take a minute for the draft to reload.
Right now it doesn't even look like there is a viable big man. LaMarcus Aldridge? Meh. Like him as a college player, but honestly, I'd rather have Darko. Shelden Williams? Please. I know I'm dying for a 6'9" center who can't even guard at the college level. Rajon Rondo and Daniel Gibson should be solid scoring points. Rodney Carney looks solid. Overall though, at this point to me it seems like a draft full of Nick Collison's and Mike Dunleavy's. Great college players, but questionable translations to the pro game.
I don't think a 7 footer will even go in the first round. If I'm looking for a draft pick for Darko. I would wait until next year. There's going to be a lot of bigs coming out. Not only does that give you a lot to choose from, but push's a lot of the quality little guys further down into the 1st round.

Re: GSW intrested in Darko?
After hearing MLKG's defence I'm gonna pass on that deal, but it's a better deal than some of the other one's we've heard. I think mostly just because Derek Fisher is an impact player, and at this point in time Darko is not, so we'd obviously improve.

3 of the first 5 players will probably be 7 fters;aldridge, bargnani, splitter, not exactly household names.i agree its unlikely anything will get done with darko especially from the detroit end. if a toronto thinks their defense is terrible(what a surprise) or a golden state wants to get a mobile western conferance type 5 man that can run the court, pass the ball and play defense then detroit might be able to capitalize on an oppurtunity. my guess is darko is insurance or maybe even leverage with wallace's contract, after that is resolved he's gone. oh by the way did i detect an adam morrison/mike dunleavy comparison, i dont see that one at all.

I meant real seven footers. Aldrige, Bargnani, and Splitter are all listed 6'11" - which basically means at the most they are 6'10" because any 6'11" player with any sort of sense just listes themselves at 7'0". I don't really know that though.
Aldridge is basically the same player as Channing Frye. Which isn't really a bad thing. I think we all expected a little more than Channing Frye out of Darko though.
And no, I'm not comparing Adam Morrison to Mike Dunleavy. I think Morrison is for real. I wasn't really making direct player comparisons, just the general college stars who are average in the NBA examples. I'm looking directly Shelden Williams and JJ Redick's direction. Right now I question if Rudy Gay is even ready to come out. Looks like Marvin Williams II to me.

Regarding Bargnani, his real height is 211 cm (6'11"). In NBA he'd be listed as 7-0 for sure (measured with shoes). I don't know if it's the same for Aldridge and Splitter...

Redick = Korver with mobility from everything I've seen on SportsCenter... Not really a huge follower of college ball though, so I could be completely off.
You know, I think the Lakers should just let the season go, relax, miss the playoffs, get a mid-late top 10 pick and grab Redick. Imagine the open looks he would get with teams keying in on Kobe Bryant. His sharp-shooting without any hands in his face? That would be a great complement to Kobe out there, in my eyes. Although I think Redick might become disenchanted by only getting MAYBE 10 shots per night... though I think Kobe could be convinced to let Redick get 15, he's not completely unreasonable I'm sure.
Actually... I think that after this season, with his reputation for dominance and scoring set, he'll be much more reasonable with teammates that actually CAN shoot the ball, should any find their way to LA...
