I should've checked a bit more before I posted. Someone here posted a pic back in early July. I'm not used to seeing him without cornrows. It will definitely look like a different RIP. Especially if he wears the mask.

I don't think it looks too bad, but I don't think he'll be winning any beauty contests either. At least we don't need to worry about those corn rows breaking Rip's little neck anymore.

Where on earth did you get that from? He played without the mask for some time after his initial broken nose healed. However, without the mask he felt himself becoming hesitant to drive through traffic. He was really playing a more cautious game without the mask. With the mask on he says he feels far more comfortable being aggressive in the paint and putting the ball on the floor through traffic.
Thats the real reason he continues to wear the mask.

I've herd a lot of things but the main two reasons straight from him were that if he breaks his nose again it could cave in and that sense he won the ship with it he has used it for a good luck charm kinda thing.
