Hahaha, in trouble. Sorry man, but I am absolutely not concerned with being "in trouble".
No hard feelings though, if I hypothetically was going to attack a poster it definitely wouldn't be you.
lol But you see what i am saying that most people(there i go again with the word "most" ) would deny that it was a personal attack in the first place. I apologize for saying that.. Just was a little angry at trying to get out my opinion
I woulda have to disagree about that because a "die hard" Nba fan would wanna express their love for the nba or team to other people alike
Do you think Frank, the 54 year old carpenter in Winnipeg, Manitoba really wants to see players refuting every call? What about Sally, the 26 year old nurse in Atlanta? Ivan, the 34 year old tax broker in Slovenia?
The NBA hits a huge variety of fans around the world, young people who love to see flair and controvery only make up a sliver of the actual fanbase. Gauging fan reaction to the rule change solely on the posts on basketballboards.net is biased and inaccurate.
I used to complain when I got called for fouls in high school, but then I got older and realized there's no point. In most countries an athlete losing their temper to the extent that NBA players used to every game is seen as an embarassment, and is rarely, if ever, celebrated.

Your misunderstanding whats been happening players are not even arguing and they are geting techs!
Rasheed just raised his arms his first tech and got a foul Carmelo tossed his headband aside and got a tech. Its geting rediculas(i cant spell!)
A player doesn't have to say something to a ref to be complaining. I agree that it will calm down eventually, but I really don't think tossing a head band is necessary, at all, neither is throwing arms up in the air in disbelief.
I was watching the Phoenix vs. LA Clippers game the other day and saw Cuttino Mobley cut into the lane in the fourth quarter of a game that was still undecided, he got called for something minor, grabbed the ball and was about to slam it on the ground, but something made him change his mind. He passed the ball to the other team, ran down the court and played defense. It was beautiful.

Your beautiful..
But when your in the heat of a game, its close, one play could decide the whole game and then you get called for a bs foul that affects the game. YOu dont think you would get a little upset

If come playoff time refs are still giving out Ts for players throwing up their arms on instinct, I'll be a little bit concerned. I don't think it will get to that though.
Wow guys, I'm the one who started this thread but by no means did I think it was going to spark a 3 person conversation battle like this. I frequent both this site and that one and just thought that some of the detroit fans in this forum would want to join in on the petition.
I for one am not encouraging whinning for 5 minutes after a bad call. I think some of you are not getting the whole point here, its not just about techs being caled for whinning to the ref and crying, were talking about the rediculous calls being made for just putting your arms up, or making some uncontroable facial expression to the bull**** call being made. I mean I agree there should be a happy medium here, but i disagree with the people who think that thats actually going to happen. Based on what I saw during last years playoffs and how the refs were instructed by who i can only assume David Stern, to make sure that anyone who even looked in Dwyane Wade or Lebron James' direction be called for a foul, whether it would change the outcome of the game or not. based on that, I think the refs will still be taking full advantage of this no tolerance rule well into the season and into the playoffs once again altering the outcomes of big games and making sure the team and player (ie, DWade or LJames) win the games their supposed to. The NBA is a money making machine and that is exactly how Stern sees it and uses it, so if that means making sure people like Wade and Lebron win championships and are on the cover of every game and magazine, by all means he's going to do it.
I happen to enjoy the site that the petition is hosted at, if you don't agree with the petition than don't sign it, but you don't have to bash the site or the owner of it, over something like that. If this continues, I would ask that someone please remove my post and this thread.
I have no bad feelings towards the creator of Need4Sheed, I think she's really cool, we've had a few threads about her in the past, but in creating her petition, she fell off the fallacy tree and hit every branch on the way down.
