Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06
Carlos Delfino just got a steal, passed it to Jason Maxiell who went on to dunk the ball so hard he nearly blew his leg off and for that moment I was happy with our performance.

10-0 run sparked by our non-starters (as in Delfino, Flip, and Max). All of a sudden it's a four point game. I like.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06
What an ugly first quarter of basketball... I'm glad we aren't playing a team like Spurs. We would've been down by 35 after one. Why Flip doesn't play Maxiell more? He's been way much better than Sheed and Dice combined.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06
Flip is awful at using the bench, he needed to get Max and Delfino in there to try to get the energy going way earlier. Max is all hustle and Delfino is good at pushing the defense( even if he does get outta control). I am beside myself with the Ts and whistles. I will be god Da^&ed if I will waste my hard earned money to buy tix to a game just to watch the refs. This is becoming embarassing to be a NBA fan. The NBA is also the only league where the refs call a foul and there isnt even contact. I would rather they miss a few calls along the way.....rather than blow the whistle when there isnt even a foul.....it is rediculous...and it slows the flow of the game.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06
Chauncey Billups has since heated up and put the Pistons on top at the start of the third quarter. He's already got 4 three pointers. Rasheed Wallace isn't doing so great and neither is Mohammed, Tayshaun Prince has just started to get going also. The only reason we are where we are now is because of our guards and our bench.

Wow I just noticed that Sheed has boards already, it doesn't quite offset the 0-7 shooting and 5 TOs though.

I wish Sheed would somehow find his way into this game... Still waiting Flip to put Max in... I like what I'm seeing from Chauncey tonight..

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06
Once again Flip shows his inability to work a bench, Tay and Sheed are stinkin up the joint tonight. Get em out and work the bench for the energy and hustle points. bring them back in if the bench proves ineffective.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06
haha, Corliss joins the group of ex-Pistons that cost us games.
What do you guys think of Corliss vs Maxiell comparison (in this game, not prime Corliss)?
This game gives me a headache. I'm going to pretend I didn't see it and leave the agony that is this game to the players.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06
Okay, I thought we would be able to catch the Kings and win because they were slumping. Boy, was I wrong. We couldn't buy a shot (what happened, frontcourt?), and the only reason we were even in the game was because for a little while, the Kings weren't that much better offensively. I knew Kevin Martin would be a threat, but I figured someone would be able to cover him. We even made Corliss Williamson, who has been washed up lately, look good. Gah, headache.
Is it too much to ask for one win on this roadtrip? Lakers and Golden State up next, and my confidence in the team is shaken right now. Time to forget this game ever happened.
EDIT: We were also murdered on rebounds, 50-35 (17-5 on offense). Dunno what the hell happened there, and considering that, it's surprising we lost by only 13. In fact, nothing here makes sense, our percentage was lower than theirs, they got to the line more, and they rebounded a lot more than we did. By all that, we should've lost by 20 or more.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06
Well, Antonio McDyess has been a complete liability just about every minute he's been on the floor this year.
I told you guys you were all crazy for your offseason expectations of him. Still want him starting?
Right now I'll take a positive contribution in 25 minutes a night from him. He's been completely awful.
