In place of Wallace? Yea. We're just in a rough patch right now, but if you're asking me who I would rather stick with in the short and long run, I'll say McDyess over Wallace every time. We need to move Sheed before he loses all of his value, but after watching Dumars give up Darko for nothing and then Ben Wallace a few months later, I am pretty confident we'll have Rasheed Wallace until he is useless.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06

Wow was Sheed ever sucking *** last night. Max was playin pretty good but pickin up the 3 fouls in the first half didn't help we could of used his production out there n left sheed on the bench. I think Sheeds trade value is already to low to think about trading him. He means to much to the teams playoff hopes right now for what we'd get in return...unless Joe wants to work some magic it's been awhile...

That's just crazy talk.

Out of the 5 games Rasheed has played great in 3 and awful in 2. We were competive in the 3 games he played well, and were blown out in the 2 he didn't.

He's pretty much the most important player on the team.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06

Rasheed, Mohammed, and McDyess are all a little out of shape. Sheed hasn't worked out, McDyess worked out but gained fat weight with it, and Mohammed just fasted. I hope their consistency improves when they get into normal form.

My take on McDyess sucking so far is his shot is just slightly off. I think he could perform the same as last year, but he isn't getting doing the same type of play. Before he'd be like 15 feet from the basket, and shoot some jumpshot at a high %. He has done that a few times in the past 5 games. Mostly he is going to the post and fighting for position and taking more difficult shots. Partly that isn't his fault. The guards are getting it to him in consistently crappy position. Making him have to sacrifice position just to catch it usually, or not finding him when he is in good position period.

I think this applies to Sheed and Nazr too. Flip tells them to feed Nazr in the 1st, so they do, and he does very well. Then they ignore him with the others. They've done an OK job getting Sheed touches but I don't think they make high quality post feeds period.

Can't blame the guards for the bigs lack of rebounding though. Why only Rasheed grabbed rebounds I will never know. I feel confident I'll never see that again though.

I'm not really going to judge anybody this early in the season. It is to be expected the team will need time to figure things out and get a new identity.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06

I'm pissed at both Sheed and Dice for being out of shape

I mean, come on, this isn't the weekend YMCA league. This is the NBA. You should be in shape for each season, at the beginning of the season- not work your way into shape.

We need more consistent contributions from the front court in general. Tay has been relatively silent, Sheed is hit or miss, and Dice can't hit the broad side of a barn right now. They need to play more inspired basketball.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06

Dice really put on a lot of muscle though, once he gets rid of the accompanying fat maybe it iwll have been worth it. His shooting % is awful but a lot of his shots are rimming out so it should turn around. He started last season shooting bad as well.

Might be the new ball. There are a lot of good shooters starting bad this season and that is probably why. Like with Chauncey. He was shooting like 31% coming into the Sac game.

Dont blame the new ball for people missing shots, sure the ball is dumb but is it really affecting the shot that much? I say no it isnt

one thing I don't understand is why Hunter is getting no time. I mean, when a player like Michael Redd or Kevin Martin is heating it up, why not put our best defensive guard on them?

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06

Very good point. Saunders never makes a defensive adjustment, I think. He always goes for the best scorer first. Maybe we are trying to integrate Murray quick or something. We are probably better off offensively with Lindsey considering how he's looked. He's actually run the offense better than anyone else imo in his limited time so far. He's been pushing the pace and making plays. Shooting pretty good, too.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Kings: Nov. 8/06

I cant stress enough what a terrible game coach Saunders is. He has no idea how to work the bench, and his adjustments?????he never makes any adjustments that I can see. He may be an offensive guru? but he would serve us better as a assistant coach if that is all he can do.

The sad thing is, for an offensive guru, his offense leaves a lot to be desired.

I also think Chauncey picks and chooses when he actually runs the offense the way Flip asks him to

I think he just goes out and runs whatever play he wants half the time
